This position offers the unique opportunity to impact Wise’s mission by establishing compliant and safe partnerships that facilitate instant, borderless money for more people.

Your mission

Wise Platform helps financial institutions and large enterprises leverage Wise’s infrastructure to offer their customers world class payments products through their own platforms. We’re based across the world – from London to Singapore, Austin and beyond.

Your primary mission will be to lead the team responsible for onboarding banks and enterprise partners. Additionally, you will look after the continuous monitoring of these partners to ensure Wise maintains effective oversight of their operations, really owning and managing the risk for our platform partners.

Job Responsibilities

  • Partner Risk Management:

    • Work closely with Group Compliance to evolve our onboarding and monitoring procedures to enable your team to be effective in managing partner risk

    • Set the standard for the partner compliance reviews that summarise findings and determine partner risk scores; ensure that the reviews are data-driven, and align partners with Wise’s risk tolerance and regulatory requirements

    • Implement robust monitoring systems to track partners' compliance operations, and utilise gathered data to provide insights as well as make informed decisions about these partnerships

  • Cross-functional Collaboration:

    • Work across departments to ensure that banks and enterprise partners are onboarded to the platform in a timely manner and have a best-in-class experience doing so

    • Educate cross functional teams (particularly commercial) about partner risk, supporting them in making decisions when our thresholds are met

  • Leadership and people development:

    • Take a leading role in scaling the risk function in Wise Platform, working with the existing teams to grow their impact

    • Be responsible for setting KPIs and SLAs, delivering and reporting on them consistently to drive high performance and a great experience for partners

Qualifications

  • Experienced in compliance risk management within Financial Services, with previous experience in Correspondent Banking

  • Proven leader with a track record of building and scaling high-performing compliance or risk teams in fast-paced environments

  • Demonstrated capability in strong stakeholder management and resilience, with the ability to effectively navigate complex organisational dynamics

  • Experienced in financial compliance consulting with a knack for presentation and persuasion to align teams and drive decisions

  • Proficiency with data, able to set KPIs and SLAs for teams and keep them accountable for meeting these goals consistently

  • Strong problem-solving skills, utilising regulations and data for strategic decision-making
