BDUK, a subsidiary of the Boeing Company, employs over 1,400 people in the UK. We are responsible for delivering several exciting contracts to our UK defence customers, including new capabilities such as the E-7 AEW&C and the P-8A Maritime Patrol Aircraft, as well as Autonomous SystemsC4ISR ServicesSupport for the Chinook & Apache FleetsLogistic Information Services, and Training Services. We are currently in a growth phase.

Engineering Function

The BDUK engineering function operates within a matrix organization, consisting of various engineering departments that deliver technical skills, expertise, and products into our programs. This role will be situated in the Product Support Engineering Department, which encompasses the following technical areas:

  • Reliability and Maintainability
  • Logistic Support Analysis
  • Engineering Data Exploitation
  • Obsolescence Management
  • Technical Publications
  • Product Support Engineering

Role Overview

As a Graduate Product Support Engineer, you will facilitate and implement Product Support Engineering philosophies and techniques while ensuring compliance with the appropriate regulatory standards. You will report to the BDUK Product Support Engineering Manager and receive technical support from other capability specialists within the department.

Key Responsibilities

In your role, you will:

  • Assist in developing and maintaining plans and processes to ensure Product Support outputs meet technical data regulatory and company requirements.
  • Produce routine Product Support outputs.
  • Conduct tasks to identify, collate, analyze, document, and provide coherent and actionable data relevant to Product Support.
  • Assist in briefing both internally and externally on Product Support engineering activities and communicate progress with the Product Support department.
  • Liaise with Engineering, R&M, ILS, Publications, RCMA, LSA, Supply Chain, and other Product Support Departments in both Boeing UK and USA to gather and provide data and information to support their tasks and activities.
  • Ensure Data Governance and Data Assurance are maintained, delivering Data Integrity and Data Quality.
  • Identify and progress Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Support internal and external audits and reviews to ensure products and data meet requirements.
  • Work as directed by the Lead Technical Support Engineer and the BDUK Support Engineering Manager.

What We’re Looking For

  • A recent graduate with a degree in Engineering, Technical Communication, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail and a passion for technical accuracy.

  • An eagerness to learn and develop expertise in aviation technical publications and maintenance documentation.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment.

  • Basic understanding or interest in aircraft maintenance procedures and support engineering principles.

  • Willingness to engage in special projects that drive innovation in technical publications.

  • The successful candidate will be expected to undergo an Intrusive Security Clearance Process, which will require 5 years uninterrupted residency in the UK prior to applying.
