Jewson Partnership Solutions (JPS) is the dedicated Public Sector division of STARK Building Materials UK, one of the UK's largest distributor of building materials. We work in partnership with local authorities, housing associations, education providers, healthcare organisations and other Public Sector customers, delivering specialist supply solutions that support the maintenance, repair and improvement of homes and public buildings across the UK.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Graduate Account Manager, you will learn by working alongside experienced colleagues, building relationships with customers and gaining hands-on experience across the business. With the support of your manager and mentor, you will gradually develop the knowledge, confidence and commercial skills to manage your own portfolio of Public Sector customer accounts across Scotland.

You will:

  • Learn how to manage a portfolio of Public Sector customer accounts across Scotland.
  • Build strong relationships with customers and develop the confidence to work with stakeholders at every level.
  • Work alongside experienced Account Managers to understand customer needs and identify opportunities to support long-term customer growth.
  • Develop your commercial awareness while learning how to balance outstanding customer service with business objectives.
  • Gain an understanding of Public Sector procurement, framework agreements and contract management.
  • Work with detailed contract documentation, pricing schedules, product catalogues and tender submissions, developing excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Commercial, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, IT and other business functions to deliver the best outcomes for customers.
  • Build product knowledge by working closely with supplier partners and internal specialists.
  • Support contract mobilisations, contract renewals and tender submissions.
  • Learn how to analyse customer data, maintain accurate CRM records and use insights to support commercial decision-making.
  • Develop an understanding of social value and support initiatives that create positive outcomes for customers and local communities.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for an ambitious graduate who is eager to build a career in account management. Previous commercial experience is not required. We are looking for someone with the curiosity, drive and potential to develop into a successful Account Manager.

You will have:

  • A degree, or be due to graduate, in any discipline. Degrees in Business, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Law, Politics, Geography, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Supply Chain, Mathematics or other analytical disciplines would be particularly relevant.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately with contracts, data and technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a commercial mindset.
  • The confidence to build relationships and work collaboratively with customers and colleagues.
  • A proactive attitude with a genuine willingness to learn and develop.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Experience using CRM systems would be an advantage but is not essential.
  • A full, valid UK driving licence, as regular travel across Scotland is required.
  • Applicants must have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide Skilled Worker visa sponsorship for this role. Any offer of employment will be subject to satisfactory Right to Work checks.
