Head of HR Operations
Purpose
Lead the development and execution of the HR Operations strategy, driving delivery of efficient, scalable, and high-quality people services. This role is responsible for shaping the vision for HR Operations and translating it into actionable plans, ensuring alignment with broader People & Culture (P&C) priorities.

Accountabilities
• Lead the development and execution of plans to realise the HR Operations vision in order to have a significant impact on P&C function outcomes.
• Oversee the delivery of P&C services including HR helpdesk, case management, Payroll provision, policy and process support.
• Ensure governance, compliance and risk management across all HR operational processes.
• Ensure compliance with employment law, P&C policies and industry best practices.
• Drive continuous improvement in HR operational processes and technology.
• Manage vendor relationships and vendor as required.
• Monitor trends in employee queries and case management to identify and provide insights on P&C trends, employee experience and make recommendations for enhancement.
• Work closely with P&C leadership to integrate HR Operations with broader P&C strategies.
• Develop and maintain mutually respectful relations (formal or informal) with Trade Union and Employee Representatives, aligned to the agreed People & Culture approach.
• Oversee the facilitation of changes to Organisational Design, ensuring the activity is not only legally compliant but is carried out to minimise disruption to colleagues and the general business.
• Build a culture of service excellence and efficiency within HR Operations.
• Manage self & task: role model Arqiva’s culture goals with the team, building respect and credibility; set a high-performance bar and challenge the team to deliver sustainable results, by developing the skills and capabilities of the team and focusing on outcomes.
• Manage relationships & communications: connect, collaborate & lead communication transparently, balancing face to face and virtual, with own team and teams across the business to encourage cross-functional understanding, agreement and knowledge sharing.

• Leadership and Management - Management proficiency in influencing, analysis, decision making, empathy, communications, and adaptability
• Strategic Thinking - Ability to analyse situations, anticipate trends and make decisions that align with long-term goals by developing innovative solutions and prioritising resources effectively
• Risk Management & QA - Ability to identify and mitigate potential risks, and implement quality control processes
• Policy Development - Ability to design, implement and review policies that align with organisational goals, regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Stakeholder Management - Ability to identify and manage stakeholder relationships and maintain communications with other stakeholders, building effective and collaborative relationships
• Strategy Development - Ability to form a clear vision and credible strategy to deliver high-quality outcomes, ensuring robust plans are in place to achieve the desired outcomes.
Knowledge & Experience
• Extensive experience in HR operations leadership.
• Expertise in HR case management, compliance and operational excellence
Qualifications: a degree (or equivalent experience) in Human Resources, Business or a related field is highly advantageous. CIPD Level 7 qualification (or equivalent experience) is required.
