Job Details
This role is in support of Cencora's wholesale distribution services in Europe operating through our Alliance Healthcare business.
Job Summary:
Responsible for developing the multiple departmental product roadmaps for the future business strategy with ELT and managing backlog with the business teams and technology teams for customer service, patient care, portals for customers and suppliers.
  • Managing prioritisation and trade-offs between customer experience, business impact, performance, and support for all products through the agreed product communities of practice
  • Working cross-functionally with business, architecture and technology teams to ensure timely and quality release of product versions and enhancements
  • Identify the key benefits and value of customer experience across customer services, patient care and customer and supplier portal products. This will be used to create and maintain product roadmaps and collateral (including news, promotional content and training materials with relevant teams).

Principle Responsibilities:
1. Understand, design, develop activities to deliver a suite of agreed products from product definition to planning to production release to support and operation driving the architecture, engineering and service teams to deliver together
2. You will drive product leads to develop tactical and strategic roadmaps for agree suites of products based on input from the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to help meet their agreed business objectives internal stakeholders, customers, market research and their own industry insight.
3. You will have line management accountability for growing and nurturing product leads, You will coach product leads on product management techniques and actively drive increased skills and growth in the product community. You will help support the evolution & transformation of wider business and help surface value added by technology.
4. Manage the total cost of ownership for product suites to ensure the best value for the business and aligning to agreed standards. This will fund both software licensing and full stack product teams who are either building or integrating packaged software to meet our business needs.
5. Identify the benefits and value of products and work with Architecture and Cencora central teams to deliver new platforms where required to deliver new functionality and increase business efficiency over time.
6. In collaboration with the wider product and engineering communities you will help shape ways of working in our operating model including helping the product community shape the product discipline at Cencora.
7. You will work with other Head of IT products and IT product leads to ensure we deliver a suite of products and services that ensure business success through Minimum Viable Product/Proof Of Concept to production ready solutions. You will measure performance across multiple teams and domains to ensure high performing teams and high value-add products.
8. You will manage key capacity decisions including recruitment focus and new team mobilisation. You will lead across the development of new capabilities including driving the recruitment process ensuring effective learning opportunities for the product community and helping evolve the product career path.
9. Build plan for benchmarking visits, business seminars and technology partner seminars with ELT sponsor and business SMEs.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
  • BSc in Computer Science
  • Considerable experience delivering relevant product and/or engineering services for a large FTSE 100 or Fortune 500 company
  • BCS Practitioner or equivalent experience

  • Professional and technology-based qualifications
  • Drive delivery and performance of product services across including all agreed sub-processes for agreed communities pf practice, ensuring the team members delivering this satisfy the needs of the ELT
  • Ensure Business Analysts in product teams deliver clear prioritised product requirements and user stories that are achievable and testable
  • Work with internal stakeholders and third parties to drive delivery through a community of practice using multiple teams throughout the development lifecycle and product lifecycle
  • Be the recognized expert in the business for this product suite, the market, relevant technology, and the competition
  • Perform and guide delivery of product prototypes and demos to customers
  • Lead the virtual product teams to ensure delivery of agreed objectives and deliverables
  • Monitor, report and improve product and service performance
  • Promote the product to the right user audience through demos and learning sessions, webinars, newsletters and other mechanisms
  • Develop and deliver product training to the right IT teams
  • Manage development and marketing projects to deliver to product roadmap
  • Collate digital feedback from customers and users
  • Represent the voice of the customer in senior level management meetings
  • Evangelize their product suite internally and externally
  • Be recognized as a leader in the business and build relations with ELT and SLT business stakeholders
  • Deliver a regular review of product roadmap, in progress, significant issues and statistics for your product(s) to the community of practice
  • Proven record of making sound judgments, effective leadership, including the ability to balance team and individual responsibilities; building teams and consensus; getting things done through others not directly under his/her supervision; and working ethically and with integrity
