Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Head of Legal to oversee our global legal operations. The successful candidate will be a trusted advisor to the business, providing pragmatic and high-quality legal counsel while driving risk management and ensuring compliance in a dynamic, high-growth, tech/SAAS environment. This individual must excel in influencing at all levels, collaborating across functions, and executing complex legal strategies with precision and decisiveness.

Key Requirements:

- Qualified Attorney or Solicitor with 10+ years PQE, ideally with experience across both private practice and in-house roles.

- Experience and track record of managing global legal teams.

- Proven experience in providing high quality legal advice on a wide range of commercial matters across multiple jurisdictions.

- Expertise in negotiating and executing commercial agreements with leading global companies.

- Strong understanding of legal risk management and compliance within a high-growth, tech/SAAS based environment.

- Experience in supporting IP strategies, including the protection and exploitation of critical IPR.

- Ability to manage and resolve customer claims and disputes.

- Capable of providing legal support to other internal functions, such as HR, Finance and Procurement.

- Knowledge of company secretarial duties and commercial risk mitigation strategies.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.

- Pragmatic, decisive, and able to work at pace with a high degree of accuracy.

- Collaborative, with a “roll-up-your-sleeves” attitude.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Manages a small but high performing global legal team with 2 lawyers in the US and 2 based in the UK.

• Manages risk profile and a wide range of complex legal matters across the organization utilizing expertise in general corporate matters, such as corporate organization, compliance matters, license agreements, employment law, data privacy, risk management, and intellectual property matters.
• Provides a wide range of general corporate and commercial legal services to a number of in-house clients.
• Drafts, reviews and negotiates a wide range of legal agreements including sales contracts and advises organization on appropriate legal action to be taken.
• Manages complex litigation matters on the company’s behalf or coordinates litigation and other legal matters handled by outside counsel.
• Establishes business relationships with key vendors, customers and/or partners through structuring, and/or administrating contractual documents.
• Evaluates contracts to ensure compliance to company policy, applicable laws and other requirements.
• Recognizes the controls that mitigate the risk of negative outcomes through prevention or detection and correction; evaluates and quantifies the impact that risk has on the business or its customers.
