Job Summary:
The Global Head of Tax Compliance is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the enterprise-wide tax compliance framework. This includes ensuring that client tax arrangements are managed in compliance with regulatory obligations and best practices. The role also encompasses setting the strategic framework for global tax reporting regimes, including the Automatic Exchange of Information (AEOI), Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA), and Common Reporting Standard (CRS). The individual will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to mitigate tax risks and ensure adherence to international tax laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Tax Compliance & Governance
- Develop and implement a global tax compliance framework to ensure adherence to tax laws and regulations across jurisdictions when managing client structures.
- Establish and maintain enterprise policies, procedures, and controls to ensure teams in location can manage client tax affairs correctly.
- Oversee internal audits and assessments related to tax compliance and risk management.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing compliance reports.
- Contribute to the enterprise identification of commercial opportunities driven by tax changes
- Complete and keep up to date Regulatory Developments Tracker (or comparable alternative system as from time to time may be introduced) to capture tax related legal and regulatory developments, which might impact CSC and/ or its client's business activities.
2. AEOI / FATCA / CRS Management
- Act as the Responsible Officer for CSC at an enterprise level and ensure oversight of local ROs
- Set the enterprise-wide framework for compliance with AEOI, FATCA and CRS reporting requirements.
- Ensure the minimum standards for with respect to tax compliance are in place for client onboarding, due diligence, and reporting obligations.
- Monitor regulatory developments and proactively adapt the compliance framework to meet evolving requirements.
- Collaborate with relevant internal teams (e.g., legal, risk, ET) to enhance systems and processes supporting tax reporting.
3. Client Tax Arrangements
- Develop a robust governance structure to ensure client tax arrangements are structured, documented, and executed in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Partner with client-facing teams to ensure that tax-related client obligations are properly managed.
- Act as a subject matter expert on tax compliance issues impacting client accounts and transactions.
5. Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead, mentor, and develop relevant compliance, risk and business unit colleagues.
- Foster a culture of tax awareness and compliance across the organization.
- Work cross-functionally with finance, legal, risk, and operations teams to ensure tax compliance is embedded in business processes.
- Manage relationships with external tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Taxation, Accounting, Finance, Law, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CTA, LLM, ACCA) preferred.
- Extensive experience in global tax compliance, including FATCA, CRS, and AEOI frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of international tax laws and regulations.
- Proven experience in tax risk management and regulatory reporting.
- Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to navigate complex tax issues in a fast-paced, global environment.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience working in a multinational financial institution or tax firm and a global corporate environment.
- Strong understanding of financial services, investment structures, corporate and private structures and client tax reporting.
- Ability to influence and drive strategic initiatives across multiple jurisdictions.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex tax issues into business-friendly language.
