Purpose of the Role:
As an HR Business Partner (HRBP) you will act as the key interface between HR and your allocated business functions with responsibility for working closely with leadership and management teams to enhance organisational performance and employee engagement. This entails supporting iis people strategy through the delivery of all aspects of the people agenda, providing expert support and guidance in relation to individual case management, wider ER interventions and the implementation of people processes and policies. You will play a key role in minimising risk by ensuring that decisions made regarding HR processes, interventions and case outcomes, comply with relevant employment legislation and internal HR policies. In addition you will support your business areas in determining and delivering strategic workforce planning, organisational design, and succession planning enabling the delivery of business change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide proactive advice, support and challenge to line managers regarding employee relations cases and decisions, ensuring that all employees related matters are handled fairly, consistently and in compliance with legislation, HR best practice and ii policies.
- Mitigate and minimise risk exposure to the business through proactive risk management of employee relations cases.
- Coach and support managers to build leadership capability and drive high performance.
- Working alongside the ii training team, support the delivery of HR focused training as required.
- Identify people manager skills and knowledge gaps relating to HR policies and processes and ensure appropriate coaching and training interventions are provided to address and remove these gaps.
- Support the Head of HR Business Partnering in delivering strategic HR initiatives across the business
- Work collaboratively with management as a strategic partner to deliver best practice people solutions.
- Lead workforce planning, talent management, and succession planning activities for the assigned business areas.
- Partner your management team in proactively identifying future change requirements and delivery plan.
- Establish and encourage high performing management teams. Driving continuous improvement within own areas of responsibility.
- Produce and analyse ER data and metrics to identify trends, areas of concern and support decision-making.
- Support the delivery of organisational design projects including redundancy, TUPE and M&A activity as appropriate.
- Provide input and feedback on HR policies and contracts of employment, including their application and the review in line with current legislation and best practice.
- Build and maintain effective, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders
- Collaborate with Learning & Development, Recruitment, and Payroll teams to ensure a seamless HR service delivery.
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across the business.
- Maintain the first line of Risk/Compliance defence by ensuring individual adherence to business processes and procedures that are designed to meet the regulatory standards set out in the relevant FCA rules and guidance.
- Make informed risk decisions and effectively and credibly debate and challenge management recommendations within your role in line with the approved Risk Management Framework.
- Maintain the first line of defence by reviewing/supporting the risks and controls assigned to the department.
Requirements
- Requirement for CIPD qualification
- Understand employment law and practices and the application of employment law in an ER setting.
- Proven ability to provide accurate advice to management and staff on a wide range of employment law matters.
- Ability to formulate a range of ER solutions to any given case, providing pros and cons to the options, highlighting the preferred recommendation based on a risk assessed approach in line with ii’s risk appetite.
- Experience of delivering strategic priorities within strict timelines.
- Deep subject matter expertise in Human Resources and HR Lifecycle.
- Excellent consulting, problem solving, and analytical skills.
- Proven advanced skills in influencing and negotiating, building strong relationships, and working collaboratively.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills – able to negotiate and influence up to Senior Management level
- Ability to work independently and plan, prioritise and organise work to achieve goals and meet deadlines, including dealing with competing demands and managing multiple cases and tasks.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and display emotional resilience when handling difficult situations or conversations.
- Advanced communication skills – verbal and written
- Proven skills to manage multiple priorities to the desired outcome and execute at highest standard.
- Organisation skills and ability to prioritise a demanding schedule
