The Opportunity
This opportunity is best suited for candidates in their penultimate/ final year of study looking for a Summer role starting in June 2025 and concluding in August 2025.
Our Team: We work with Wood Mackenzie’s regional oil and gas sector experts to deliver research and consulting projects and provide economic valuation and analysis of thousands of oil and gas fields. We serve a range of clients, including national and major oil companies, governments, investment banks and institutional investors.
About the role: Collaborating closely with some of the industry’s leading subject matter experts, you will help to deliver insights that move markets. As part of the Global Upstream team, you will gain first-hand experience of working in a commercial data and research environment – from monitoring industry activity, to analysing the economics of an oil field – you will start to discover what makes the global energy industry tick.
In this role you will:

- Be encouraged to share your ideas and previous experiences with the team.
- Learn valuable new skills for your future career and current academic studies.
- You will be part of a team with other interns across the company.

Requirements
Studying towards a Bachelor’s degree or professional qualification with a quantitative, statistical, business, energy and/or economics focus.
Wood Mackenzie follows a hybrid work structure, however, during the duration of this internship, the successful candidate would highly benefit from being in the office frequently with the team and their line manager.

- An analytical mind and eye for detail with basic understanding of data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, or comparable)

- Keen interest in the energy sector, with a focus on upstream oil and gas markets
