We have an exciting, opportunity for an experienced Internal Communications Specialist to join our Amersham office (hybrid working) as we continue to integrate and grow following the Howden acquisition. Working from our London office may be considered with travel to Amersham once a week and part-time may also be considered. This is a fixed-term opportunity until 31st December 2026.
The Internal Communications Specialist sits within the heart of the internal communications delivery model and plays a central role in delivering high‑quality, high‑volume internal communications that support the organisation’s strategic priorities. A significant portion of this role is dedicated to supporting the BW × Howden integration, which requires sustained, high‑volume colleague engagement activity through to the end of 2026. Working closely with the Head of Internal Communications and a junior communications executive, the role translates strategy and leadership messaging into clear, engaging and effective communications for colleagues across the organisation.
You will act as a leading content producer, developing and delivering clear, compelling communications that bring strategy, leadership priorities and key initiatives to life for colleagues; and supports colleagues through the BW × Howden integration, ensuring they remain informed, connected and aligned throughout the transition period.
A snapshot of your day:
- Clear, consistent and aligned content creation and delivery; including strategic priorities leadership messages, intranet articles, organisational announcements, presentations, briefing notes and campaign materials.
- Working with the Internal Communications Manager to deliver integrated communications that reinforce business priorities aligned to strategic initiatives, with particular focus on BW × Howden integration activity.
- Helping shape and maintain a clear narrative across key programmes and organisational messages with content that helps colleagues understand key changes, timelines and impacts in a clear and straightforward way.
- Collaborating within the internal communications team and the junior internal communications executive to ensure well‑structured content that can be easily adapted for different audiences is distributed through appropriate channels
- Supporting effective planning and coordination to ensure communications are timely and joined‑up.
- Stakeholder collaboration: Supporting senior leader communications and gathering insight from across the business to ensure communications are accurate, relevant, and effective.
- Continuous improvement; Contributing to improving the quality and effectiveness of internal communications and suggesting ideas to improve clarity, quality, and impact of internal communications.
- Using feedback and engagement insight to refine content and messaging over time.
We would love to hear from you if you have:
- Experience working in an internal communications role within a large organisation.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging communications.
- Experience producing a wide range of internal communications content at pace.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple pieces of work simultaneously.
- A collaborative approach and experience working as part of a communications team.
- Demonstrated attention to detail with high editorial standards.
- Ability to work at pace while maintaining quality and ability to stay calm under pressure, adapting well to changing priorities
- Similar professional or financial services industry experience or communications that relate to an integration or organisational change is an advantage
