Our Investment Accounting Group provides accounting and regulatory data services to insurance clients. Our accounting services include the reconciliation, tracking, accounting for assets, along with preparation and oversight of monthly packages and regulatory schedules.
The RoleThe eFront Migrations Specialist will handle accounting and reporting tasks. They will support the transition of portfolios from legacy systems to eFront in the alternative assets space. This role is on the forefront of promoting process refinement and automation efforts to alternative assets. It also contributes to the successful adoption of accounting policy modifications for Alternatives, while supporting BlackRock’s insurance clients alongside broader organizational aims.

Key responsibilities include:Migration & Implementation
- Carry out end-to-end migration activities: data extraction, transformation, and loading into eFront.
- Validate accounting bases (GAAP, STAT, IFRS) and configure portfolio structures.
- Ensure historical performance data is loaded for compliance and reporting.
- Lead the implementation of client mandates with effective planning and resource management.
- Maintain detailed migration documentation and runbooks for repeatable frameworks.
- Ensure consistent process and control across the client base.
- Support change management, logging and tracking enhancements or issues.
- Stay ahead of regulatory changes and communicate implications across multiple accounting bases.
- Partner with Investment Controllers, IA Operations, and external consultants to ensure seamless execution.
- Represent Alternatives Accounting on cross-functional projects and working groups.
- Provide status updates and participate in governance meetings.
- Provide regular training sessions for the Investment Accounting Team on new Alternative investment strategies, product categories, and updates in accounting.
- Provide hands-on training to internal teams on eFront workflows and procedures.
- Support post-migration transition and embed learning into processes aligned with BAU or equivalent experience.
- Understanding of Alts product mechanics, requirements, including Equity Method of Accounting for Partnerships/Joint Ventures held as investments
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience in investments/markets and understanding of Alternative Investment accounting
- Knowledge of insurance companies, including the regulatory and accounting constraints and standards under which they operate
- Continuous operational improvement and control enhancement demeanor
- Familiarity with product-specific financial reporting and disclosures
- Experience in large-scale system migrations within financial services.
- Knowledge of automation tools (e.g., Python for reconciliation scripts).
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
