As part of our team, you’ll do impactful work within an inclusive environment where everyone works together to achieve extraordinary outcomes. You’ll be empowered to reach your full potential through managing your own personalised development plan and access to our learning and development programs.

The Role

At the heart of every great company is a seamless technology experience. As an IT Generalist, you won't just be managing hardware; you will be delivering IT service excellence to our most important asset—our people. From laptops and thin clients to printers and specialized equipment interfaces, you will ensure our team has the tools they need to succeed. If you are a natural problem solver who loves tech, values great communication, and is ready to grow your IT career in a supportive, forward-thinking environment, we want to hear from you.

Please note that this role is an on-site, full time position based in Livingston or Kelso. Must have a full driving license and be able to travel between sites when required.

Due to the nature of project work we require candidates to hold U.K. nationality or to either have, or be able to go through, U.K. national security vetting and clearance.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you’ll own:

  • Solve & Support: Act as the go-to troubleshooter for all IT challenges. You’ll keep our internal customers informed with timely, friendly updates while escalating issues when needed.

  • Asset Management: Track and manage the entire lifecycle of our computing devices, software inventory, and related equipment—from setup to retirement.

  • Maintain Standards: Follow Global IT policies and keep a close eye on change management procedures to safely test and implement system updates.

  • Drive Improvement: Lean into metrics and process improvements. You’ll help us find the root cause of recurring tech hiccups and help implement permanent fixes.

  • Guard the Gates: Play an active role in upholding our cybersecurity posture. You’ll help protect our systems, flag potential vulnerabilities, and keep our data secure.

What You Bring to the Table

We’re looking for a collaborative team player who enjoys helping others and has a solid foundation in IT support.

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree with 1+ years of related experience is preferred. However, if you have an equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience, we absolutely want to see your application.

  • Technical Savvy: Intermediate-level computer skills and a strong desire to keep learning.

  • Problem-Solving: Entry-level decision-making skills with a structured approach to troubleshooting.

  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. You can write clear technical procedures, document ticket resolutions, and explain tech concepts to non-technical colleagues with ease.

  • Detail-Oriented: Ability to keep meticulous journals of task progress and system configurations.

Your Rewards and Wellbeing

We believe in rewarding your contribution with a comprehensive package designed to support your life both inside and outside of work.

  • Growth: Bespoke development plans and volunteer time off
  • Health: Private medical insurance, Employee Assistance Program and vision care
  • Wealth: Enhanced pension contributions, life assurance, and group income protection
  • Lifestyle: Electric Vehicle and Cycle to Work schemes, plus 33 days of annual leave

Application Process

At Plexus, we don't look for culture fit, we look for culture add. We value the unique perspectives you bring and review every candidate holistically, balancing professional experience, education and individual journey.

As a Disability Confident employer, we recruit purely on the basis of skills and merit, ensuring an equitable process for everyone. We are committed to providing reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities or special requirements.
