The IT Operations team maintains our IT infrastructure, supports the business to get the most out of our 3rd party and internally developed software as well as delivering IT solutions for external client use. We produce a wide variety of business systems that are used across all our practice areas.
We have an exciting opportunity for an IT Operations Engineer to join either of our Cheltenham, London, Leeds, Amersham or Birmingham offices on a hybrid basis an 12 month fixed-term contract. The team is spread throughout multiple offices in the UK and the position will involve some travel to other offices.
Responsibilities
- Providing 3rd line user support to BW users.
- Working with the in-house Software Development teams and Azure DevOps to deploy market-leading BW Software and maintain appropriate infrastructure.
- Support migration of Windows Server VMs, and Azure infrastructure (network, compute, storage, identity, monitoring).
- Assist in the migration of workloads, applications, databases, and services across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Ensure smooth execution of cutovers, go-lives, and onboarding waves.
- Support and Administration of Servers, Network, Microsoft Azure and 365 Services.
- Manage multiple environments (Production, Development - NPE, and others).
- Ensure the security of the company data by documenting and implementing backup and DR solutions, and IT procedures.
- Keep up to date on network and application security issues, review and implement hot-fixes, best practice documents, and other advice to secure the servers.
- Plan and implement the roll out of new infrastructure and software.
- Support and Implement Information Security procedures and activities in accordance with BW’s Information Security Policy.
We would love to hear from if you have:
- Microsoft 365 and Azure certifications preferred e.g. AZ-104.
- 3-4 years previous Windows Server, SQL Server, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft 365, and Azure Administration experience.
- Experience in managing server room UPS, Network and Hyper-V server equipment.
- Networking Certifications (CCNA-level) preferred; good understanding of Network troubleshooting, TCP/IP Networking.
- ITIL Foundation
- Cyber Essentials+ awareness
- The ability to effectively communicate with employees from wide ranging groups include IT and non-IT is important.
- A fast learner who can work well in a team.
- Have a clear grasp of current IT developments and their importance in a business environment.
- Ability to effectively represent the firm to its clients, as some projects will be client facing.
