At Uni Systems, we are working towards turning digital visions into reality. We are continuously growing and we are looking for a Junior DevOps Engineer to join our UniQue Java Middleware Services team. In this role, you will assist in deploying, managing, and optimizing containerized applications using Kubernetes (with a focus on OpenShift) and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).

Our UniQue people come from a variety of different backgrounds and industries, with different skillsets and approaches, but they have one thing in common: passion for technology and innovation! For the Junior DevOps Engineer position we expect you to: 

  • Support the deployment and management of containerized Java applications on OpenShift and AKS platforms.
  • Collaborate with the development team to integrate applications within the Kubernetes environment.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Participate in the automation of infrastructure provisioning and management using tools like Terraform or Ansible.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of documentation related to system configurations and processes.
Requirements

What do you need to succeed in this position?

Your experience, skillset and qualifications are going to help you succeed in this position, moving forward. We would like you to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in a DevOps or cloud engineering role.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, particularly OpenShift.
  • Familiarity with Azure services, especially Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
  • Understanding of containerization technologies like Docker.
  • Basic knowledge of CI/CD tools and practices.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Bash or Python.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
  • Knowledge of security best practices in containerized environments.
  • Exposure to Agile and DevOps methodologies.
