ABOUT UNILEVER IN KATOWICE

It is Unilever’s in-house centre of business partnering and operational excellence in the area of finance services, supply chain, customs, procurement, integrated planning and performance delivery. There are 300 people in Katowice Hub.

The modern Katowice Hub office, whose interiors were designed according to the principles of sustainable development, is located in the city centre of Katowice, Poland.
We are working in the hybrid way to use the time spent in the office to influence collaboration and straighten the team spirit, using special designed for this purpose office areas. 

JOB PURPOSE

Junior Finance Manager is a Supply Chain function working closely with Logistics, CustomerService & Planning. Role entails Finance Business Partnering within European Customer Operations team on Logistics matters. The role will be partnering to logistics teams located in Katowice, Poland that supports all pan-European Finance activities across Transport, Warehousing & Overheads with direct focus of transportation cost and goes together with a big exsposure for interactions between finance and operations teams.  The role presents a huge opportunity to unlock value for Unilever by ensuring robust Financial framework and supporting optimisation opportunities to drive Savings & Service improvement. Junior Finance Manager will be working closely with multi-layered team and report into the European Customer Operations Finance Senior Manager.

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

Finance business partner for the logistics team:

  • Help in creation of correct and efficient financial processes. Especially ensure accuracy of accruals, forecast and result snapshot.

  • Analyze and explain results. Craft action plans with the logistics colleagues and provide visibility on their financial impact

  • Provide input for regional business cases and support the logistics finance manager in the design of EU transport transformational projects.

  • He/She monitors the transport efficiencies and ensure a clear link between operational KPIs and financial results. He/she makes internal & external transport benchmarks.

  • He/She analyses the operational trends and the correlate finance trends to support an effective contract design and better Purchase to Pay processes. He/she also provides

  • support in the relevant tendering processes.

  • He/She supports the central financial team on the cyclical processes (e.g. forecasting and activity-based costing).

  • He/She establish a proper way of support for the MCO and Category Finance teams, especially in reporting, result controlling and performance management.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Experiences & Qualifications

  • At least 4 years’ experience in Finance (Controlling, ideally FMCG company)

  • Fluent in English, oral and written

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a highly VUCA environment whilst

  • establishing a governance framework that allows prioritization against set business criteria

  • Aptitude in absorbing new information, applying new techniques, technology and procedures to drive efficiencies in daily operations

  • Business acumen – rapidly absorbs new information; applies new techniques, technology and procedures;

  • Analytical thinking, problem solving attitude – ability to combine multiple and different data point to draw conclusions; apply systematic approach to identify and eliminate root causes; identify problem solution;

  • IT & communication skills – excellent level of MS Office and good communication and presentation skills;

  • Motivation and drive – ambitious to hit personal target and standard; act to remove basic blocks to progress without waiting for other to do so;

  • Team working – demonstrate commitment to the team in helping to achieve goals;

  • proactively share best practice, ideas and insights with colleagues.
