Lead software engineer, AI, ML and LLM across the database product line
Job Description

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within IP Platforms, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. In this role you will drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions and apply deep technical ability and problem-solving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of opportunities that span multiple technologies and applications.
Job responsibilities
- Work alongside existing product teams leveraging AI technologies to enhance the customer experience, drive efficiencies and build innovative automation across the entire database product line.
- Provide engineering leadership to educate existing teams how they should be using AI effectively, growing our ability to leverage AI technology across the organization.
- Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
- Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
- Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
- Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
- Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge of application, data, cloud and infrastructure architecture disciplines.
- Advanced hands-on skills in Python and or Java programming.
- A fundamental understanding of AI, ML and LLM concepts, terminology and technology, preferably with hands on experience.
- A fundamental understanding of databases and database technologies.
- Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently. A self-starter that thrives in a fast-paced, agile setting.
- Have clear and effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate seamlessly across multi-disciplined teams.
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Hands on experience working with database technologies
- Experience building, deploying Machine Learning models, and the ML Lifecycle
- Exposure to cloud technologies
