Hello! We're Teya.
Teya is a payment and software service provider, headquartered in London serving small, local businesses across Europe. Founded in 2019, we build easy to use, integrated tools that enable our members to accept payments and boost business performance.
At Teya we believe small, local businesses are the lifeblood of our communities.
We’re here because we don’t believe there’s a level playing field that gives small businesses with a fighting chance against the giants of the high street.
We’re here because we see banks and legacy service providers making things harder for them. We don’t think the best technology or the best service should be reserved for those with the biggest headquarters.
We’re here to fight for a future where small, local businesses can thrive, and to commit the same dedication they offer all of us.
Become a part of our story.
We’re looking for exceptional talent to join our mission. We offer a chance to create impact in a high-energy and connected culture, while benefiting from continuous learning opportunities, a supportive community which is proud to serve our mission, and comprehensive benefits.
Your Mission:
At Teya, we’re building the future of fintech for small businesses, and our Legal team is a key partner in enabling that growth. As Corporate Legal Counsel, you’ll play a critical role in supporting the company’s corporate governance, structuring, and corporate finance transactions.
You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders across Finance, Tax, and Operations to ensure our corporate foundations are robust, scalable, and aligned with regulatory and commercial objectives. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative, high-impact team and help shape the legal infrastructure of a rapidly scaling business.
In this role, you will:
Be part of a dynamic, solutions-driven legal team, with a focus on building efficient and scalable legal processes for the business.
Advise on corporate governance matters, including board processes, shareholder arrangements, and statutory compliance.
Support group reorganisations and entity management across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring legal and regulatory requirements are met.
Draft, review and negotiate corporate documentation, including governance, financing and transaction documents.
Partner with external counsel to manage complex and cross‑border corporate matters, delivering pragmatic, business‑aligned advice.
Design, refine, and implement internal processes, templates, and playbooks to drive efficiency, consistency, and scalability across the function.
Support strategic initiatives and cross‑functional projects, including providing legal coverage across commercial and regulatory workstreams as needed.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
Your Story:
Qualified solicitor (England & Wales preferred) with 3+ years PQE, ideally gained in a top-tier law firm and/or in-house legal team.
Strong experience in corporate law, including governance, structuring, and transactional work.
Exposure to fintech, payments or financial services is highly desirable.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear, pragmatic advice to senior stakeholders.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with evolving priorities.
A collaborative mindset and willingness to roll up your sleeves and get involved.
Teya is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, disability, religion, or background can thrive and do their best work. We believe that a diverse team leads to better ideas, stronger outcomes, and a more supportive workplace for all.
If you require any reasonable adjustments at any stage of the recruitment process whether for interviews, assessments, or other parts of the application—we encourage you to let us know. We are committed to ensuring that every candidate has a fair and accessible experience with us.
