Are you looking to gain legal experience within a highly successful business across Ireland and the UK? As a legal intern at Optum Ireland & UK, you will experience what it is like to provide legal advice and support to the group's fast-growing businesses in Ireland and the UK and would work closely with various legal teams across affiliate companies in the US and Europe. You will be exposed to a number of our key practice areas, including corporate governance, real estate, compliance, commercial contracts, technology, and intellectual property. We will provide continuous support throughout your internship and you will have the opportunity to work directly with a team of five lawyers and various business teams.
This full-time intern position will start in in June 2026.
This internship will last for 3 months, and the successful candidate may elect to be based in the Dublin office or the Letterkenny office.

- Introduction to challenging and interesting legal work in an in-house environment supporting sites in Ireland and the UK over a 3 month period
- Working under the guidance of lawyers on a large variety of legal issues
- Attending both internal and external training sessions and meetings alongside members of the Legal Team
- Collaborating with colleagues across Optum Ireland & UK and affiliate businesses
- Collaborating to work in partnership with other support teams throughout the business, including Finance, Tax, Compliance and Privacy
- Conduct comprehensive legal research relevant to the company's operations in various jurisdictions

Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a law degree (or a recent graduate of a law degree)
- Proven solid academic background
- Demonstrates a genuine interest in and understanding of law
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and team player
- Demonstrated excellent organizational skills and solid work ethic
- Proven ability to be a self-starter that shows initiative and is capable of taking ownership of projects
- You are open to developing skills, not only in the law, but also in the areas of business and innovation
- You must be available from June to August 2026
