What is the Marketing Research and Analysis Team responsible for?
The Marketing Research and Analysis team is responsible for providing the research and analysis behind the compelling product stories and content that bring to life our product offerings in a way that engages clients to take action to invest or to remain invested in our products. We act as the market and data expert throughout the organization. We support Globally and this role will focus on International Distribution (ex-U.S. domestic); this includes Canada, Americas Offshore, EMEA and APAC lines of business (Retail and Institutional).
This is a HYBRID position which requires 3 day per week onsite in either our Edinburgh or London office.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Market Research Analyst – Global Marketing?
The Market Research Analyst is responsible for independently interpreting and analyzing financial data and using appropriate statistics to create and update sales/marketing literature.

Independently research and analyze financial data to develop statistics and comparative illustrations for use in a variety of external use sales and marketing applications for Canada, Americas Offshore, EMEA and APAC lines of business, including product stories and thematic campaigns, while being cognizant of permissible use and redistribution of third-party data. Accountable for research integrity and accuracy of individual projects.

Interpret and prioritize business partners’ requests, as well as independently interface with and manage relationships with business partners. Contribute to a custom data template production service with little to no supervision of the lead.

Serve as subject matter expert on assigned analytical/research system.

Ensure content for relevant strategies, asset classes and managers is consistent, compelling and up to date.

Develop extensive knowledge of the investment philosophies, strategies, positions and processes of the investment products in scope to develop clear, consistent, and pertinent supporting stories.

Review and interpret marketing/financial data within prospective sales and marketing materials, ensuring and certifying standards of quantitative theory and rigor. Provide alternative recommendations when necessary.

Identify data sources and extract and manage data using Bloomberg Professional, Macrobond, Morningstar Direct and other platforms.

Publish data visualizations through Tableau or other data templates, perform analysis on data, and develop interactive dashboards for consumption by management and business partners.

Recommend new products to the Supervisor based on existing business requirements, proprietary data sets, active areas of research, and feedback from business partners.

Contribute to the development of interactive data products, such as automated dashboards or data templates used to democratize data, consolidate delivery requirements, publish insights, or provide business intelligence on departmental and team operations for consumption by management.

Recommend new data that would be valuable for internal warehousing or connection to database federation systems to the Supervisor.

Build strong, proactive, long-term relationships with clients by anticipating and providing services that address their needs, and improving processes that support customer focus. Develop and manage strong relationships with peers, business partners, communication owners, data providers and managers.
What ideal qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?
- Bachelor's Degree - (Business Administration, Finance, Information, or Information Science) required
- Professional experience in the Financial Services industry or in consulting, research, or data services industries partnering with Financial Services clients essential.
- Deep knowledge of the mutual fund industry, capital markets, and investment product structures (mutual funds, exchange traded funds, and separate accounts).
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, with detail-oriented approach to research, analysis, and data presentation.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills essential.
- Completion, or progress towards the completion, of the Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM), or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation highly desirable.
- Capable of working independently as well as in groups.
