The Market Specialist for cards & payments is responsible for positioning FIS as an industry leader, leveraging payments domain expertise, knowledge of FIS payments solutions and your influence in the market. Responsibilities include supporting sales activities with executive level interactions, providing a holistic view of the FIS strategy for payments. Leveraging your network to identify opportunities and work with the product teams on changing market requirements. Support the sales team with insights into the sales motion and buying behaviour of the client. Present the FIS strategy at industry events and promote FIS capabilities in the card payments space to market influencers, consulting firms and partners. Assist with our GTM activities and the performance for payments across the various market segments in terms of pipeline generation and sales results.

Working closely with the Sales Managers/Executives Europe who are responsible for all sales business development activities with prospects and existing clients. You will play an integral role in the sales process utilizing in-depth card payments product knowledge to provide business and technical expertise in uncovering prospect requirements and identifying product functionality gaps to develop, recommend and package the best possible product/solutions and/or services for client prospects through sales presentations and product demonstrations. 

The role offers an exciting opportunity to work with major banks, financial institutions, processors and fintech/challenger banks and assist them with their payment solution strategies. FIS is the world’s largest provider of banking, wealth and payments solutions and is investing in the latest technology approaches for digital banking and payments, cloud-based processing and API enabled services.

What you will be doing:

  • Supporting sales activity including attending meetings, qualifying deals, training sellers, presenting trends to C-suite
  • Assists in the development of sales plans and strategies
  • Support the development of sales messaging and positioning for card payments suite for assigned regions. Influence roadmap
  • Review lead generation from campaign/events, and support the qualification process
  • Collaborate with sales engineering teams for customer/prospect requests for information on RFIs and RFPs completion
  • Ensure successful service demonstrations and use-case walkthroughs
  • Proactively collaborate to share best practices and knowledge. Provide “big picture” solution-based approach.
  • Demonstrates product knowledge including various solutions, markets and competitive intelligence.
  • Support relevant product launches, define the addressable market(s) where applicable.
  • Bring in solution engineering/pre-sales after qualifying key opportunities – help coordinate across multiple products / services to ensure single buying experience from client perspective.
  • Collect, analyze and maintain client/prospect requirements and translate/map them into FIS service solutions.
  • Support project managers in planning the solution aspects of sales opportunities including cost estimations
  • Supporting sales executives/managers to close sales opportunities
  • The role will require establishing a strong collaboration and partnership attitude from the solution consulting team with the sales organisation as well as other teams within product management, client engagement, professional services and card payments line of business.

What you will need:

  • 10+ years card payments industry experience
  • 10+ years in presales and/or solution definition/validation role
  • Experience in selling card issuance (debit, prepaid, credit), card acquiring, switching, fraud and reconciliation solutions/practices into financial institutions and processors
  • Strong grasp of card payments competitive landscape in the industry
  • Deep relationships within key institutions in the industry
  • Proven track record of involvement in events / conferences/ articles / media  
  • Proven C-level engagement experience
  • Ability to create and shape market facing messaging and positioning
  • Requires expert negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Requires solid decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Analytical skills are required to determine client business needs and requirements
  • Ability to show established track record of involvement in industry trade groups preferred
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Well above-average written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Travel is required
