Job Purpose

The Marketing Analyst supports data-driven decision-making across the organization by delivering accurate, timely, and actionable reporting and analysis. This role plays a key part in enabling cross functional collaboration, improving reporting processes, and providing insights that drive strategic and
operational outcomes.

Essential duties and responsibilities (not all inclusive)

The Role’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to

  • Meets scheduled milestones to ensure project objectives are met.

  • Collaborate with sales teams to understand key performance indicators (KPIs), reporting goals,and contractual obligations and support these efforts through the development of basic reporting,
    data visualization, and dashboard customization.

  • Facilitate stakeholder understanding of data, dashboards, and insights provided—including any limitations or qualifications.

  • Assess reporting needs and workflows to identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Utilize company-approved generative AI technologies to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and innovation in reporting and analytics processes.

  • Analyze customer sales, gross margin, and pricing data; use historical sales data for forecasting and identifying market trends and customer KPIs.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reporting accuracy reflects their subject matter expertise and operational context.

  • Support ad hoc reporting needs across departments, including but not limited to Marketing,

  • Business Development, Supply Chain, Finance, Pricing, Human Resources, and Operations.

  • Research and analyze industry trends such as industrial projects, raw material pricing, currency fluctuations, well, rig, and permit data, capital expenditures, and other customer data that may
    impact profitability.

  • Communicate findings, insights, and results to Executive and Senior Management in a clear, concise, and impactful manner through regular updates and discussions.

  • Support employee onboarding and training by facilitating knowledge transfer, developing documentation, and participating in cross-training initiatives to ensure team-wide proficiency and
    operational continuity.

  • Perform additional departmental duties or projects as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills & Abilities

  • Proven ability to work effectively in time-sensitive, high-priority environments.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint, and database applications; ability to learn and master MRC Global-specific systems and tools.

  • Skilled in working with large datasets using Excel and database tools to extract, analyze, and visualize data effectively.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for diverse audiences.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.

  • Experience with estimating methodologies is preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to data accuracy and integrity.

  • Ability to manage multiple reporting requests and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Familiarity with data visualization best practices and user-centered dashboard design.

  • Comfortable working cross-functionally to gather requirements and deliver tailored reporting solutions.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in task switching, managing interruptions, and prioritizing effectively in deadline-driven environments.

  • Familiarity with MRC Global’s sales and operational processes is a plus.

Working Conditions

  • Most work is performed at a desk or in front of a computer.

  • Able to sit/stand for long periods of time.
