MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE BUSINESS:

As a Marketing Lead in Kainos, you will develop and own the marketing strategy and plans that fully align with commercial priorities and sales plans to support growth and ambitions for Public Sector and Healthcare marketing. You will engage public sector stakeholders through account-based marketing (ABM) to fuel the sales pipeline. You will provide reports to key stakeholders within the business on success and deliver against goals. 
 
You will use your extensive experience and commercial knowledge to maximise the impact of marketing on the business. You will foster strong relationships with key internal stakeholders and external partners, acting as a trusted advisor. 

Your key responsibilities will include: 

  • Owning and implementing strategy, plans and budgets – you will develop, own and implement the marketing strategy and plan, aligned to commercial priorities. You will ensure delivery is on time and own the marketing budget for your business unit. 

  • Owning, creating and activating campaigns and content – you will manage the creation of campaigns and content to support and engage key accounts, drive brand awareness and generate leads. You will ensure the team effectively implements across a variety of channels to achieve objectives. 

  • Reporting, accountability and ROI – you will own overall marketing effectiveness and ROI reporting on campaigns and activities for your area. Working with colleagues across Marketing Technology and Ops, you will optimise effectiveness and introduce new ways of working or cascade learning through your team. 

  • Strategic alliances with Partners – you will work closely with the Partner Marketing team to foster strong relationships with key partners such as Microsoft and AWS to shape your plans and activities. Using your sound understanding of trends, you will identify new opportunities to drive commercial benefit and shape thinking. 

  • Working as a team and developing others – you will proactively work and collaborate as part of the marketing team to deliver against overall OKRs. You will lead, mentor and coach team members. You will build strong relationships with internal stakeholders of all levels across the business, acting as a trusted advisor. 

MINIMUM (ESSENTIAL) REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Substantial experience in marketing, including at a strategic/management level, with clear evidence of success in prior roles 

  • Professional qualification in marketing or specialised area (e.g., CIM) 

  • Experience of developing marketing strategies focused on maximising success in target markets 

  • Experience in account-based marketing (ABM), preferably in the public sector 

  • Demonstrated ability to tie marketing programmes to ROI metrics 

  • Accomplished range of skills from high-level strategic thinking to creative and execution 

  • Able to manage complex, multi-faceted, measured marketing programmes 

  • Able to drive projects through to completion and deliver against defined business metrics and objectives 

  • Experience of working with sales teams to generate leads to fuel pipeline 

  • Good understanding and experience of CRM and marketing automation 

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present, influence credibly and build strong trusted relationships at all levels of the organisation and with external partners 

  • Experience of mentoring and coaching a successful marketing team 

  • Capable of coordinating team deliverables and ensuring deadlines are met in accordance with business requirements while operating in a dynamic, fast-paced setting. 

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills 

  • Ability to cultivate ideas, utilising creative writing while adhering to branding and messaging direction and strategy 

  • Ability to think ‘outside the box’ 

 

DESIRABLE: 

  • Degree or higher in Marketing, Communications, or a similar, relevant discipline 

  • Understanding of the UK public sector and how it procures 

  • PR understanding and ability to write press releases and liaise with key media 

  • Event management and project management 

  • Understanding of generating leads and managing them through to qualification 

  • Broad technology experience and a sound awareness of technology trends and their potential impact on current and future marketing plans
