What are we looking for?

We looking for a Marketing Strategist for a 16-month fixed-term contract to join our rapidly growing marketing team.

The Marketing Strategist leads up the Campaign and Merchandising team, which is responsible for globally integrated campaigns, online merchandising placements and global partner deals distribution.

This dynamic role requires strategic thinking, team management experience and a mix of e-commerce knowledge, digital marketing expertise, and data-driven decision-making to establish executional strategies. Cross functional collaboration is at the heart of this role, working between various marketing teams, brand, commercial and product, which requires excellent key stakeholder management to drive significant impact across the business.

This role sits at the center of integrated marketing plans in Skyscanner, giving a great insight in all the moving aspects in the business and a prime opportunity to impact core marketing outgoings and Key Performance Indicators. The role has a great opportunity to influence product roadmaps, marketing strategies and cross organisational goals.

 

What will the role be responsible for delivering on?

Strategic Campaign Development

  • Develop comprehensive and innovative campaign strategies aligned with marketing goals and business objectives centred around key moments and flagship features to drive impact on specific marketing KPIs  as well as business goals. 
  • Work closely with analytics teams to define key performance messaging and indicators (KPIs) and help channels optimise campaigns in real-time 
  • Tailor campaign strategies to resonate with specific audience segments and markets, creating strong resonance with local audiences 

Digital Merchandising

  • Optimise the merchandising strategy for onsite placement, implementing messaging according to the audience needs and local resonance to drive brand trust and loyalty.
  • Drive overarching strategy and overseeing governance to maintain consistent and coherent onsite messaging in line with the growing audience needs and campaign evolvement to create local resonance.
  • Partner closely with the Product Lead on the merchandising product roadmap to optimise towards requirements needs and gaps to increase efficiency and results.
  • Utilise data-driven insights to inform strategy development and optimise messaging across multiple channels, and oversee the messaging framework for onsite placements.

Partner Deals distribution 

  • Lead on distribution of Partner Deals to relevant audiences, to help Partners reach their commercial goals and help the audience discover the best price of Skyscanner partners.
  • Consistently optimise and improve the distribution and governance of Partner Deals Marketing towards relevant audience, to reduce resources and enhance impact for both the audience and the business
  • Oversee efficient distribution of partner content via performance channels and optimise where applicable to drive best results.

Team management

  • Manage a small but mighty team of two to drive integrated global campaign moments and digital merchandising messaging.
  • Help develop and enable the direct reports with development plans, goals and priorities
  • Develop this recently new team further into an efficient, confident unit across the business

Market Research and Analysis

  • Conduct in-depth market research and competitor analysis to inform the development of effective campaign strategies and messaging framework for merchandising placements.
  • Monitor and continue testing and implementing of brand messaging across campaigns and on site placements to create best practice playbook and optimisation

Integrated Planning

  • Plan integrated campaigns that span multiple channels, ensuring cohesive messaging and tactics.
  • Develop strategic plans that enable global campaigns to have local executions and adaptations
  • Govern and maintain consistent and coherent onsite messaging in line with growing audience needs and campaign evolvement

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Marketing, Product, Commercial, and other cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of campaign activities and onsite messaging through in-house advertising
  • Actively participate to the establishment and running of key channel planning forums 

 

What skills do we need?

  • Ability to strategically assess opportunities and long term potential for cross organisational campaigns
  • A good understanding of marketing channel operations and success factors
  • Strong influencing and leadership skills to drive progress and influence critical roadmaps and priorities
  • Excellent stakeholder management and cross functional collaboration
