About Merge

Merge is a regulated stablecoin payments infrastructure platform enabling enterprises to move money globally in real time. We combine stablecoin rails with local instant payment systems to deliver faster, cheaper, and more transparent cross-border payments and treasury workflows. Merge serves fintechs, investment platforms, marketplaces, and corporate treasury teams globally.

About the role

We're looking for a freelance motion designer or an agency to partner with us on an ongoing basis. We have a recurring need for high quality motion and visual content - the volume varies month to month and we want one reliable partner we can keep coming back to, rather than one-off hires per project.

The work spans motion and visual content for Merge's digital presence - social media posts, product feature announcements, collaboration content, and blog visuals along with visual projects briefed by the founder and product team: decks, product visuals, and campaign assets.

What we care about most: genuinely strong motion design work, especially intro videos and product launch videos. If you've made launch films or product explainers that people actually stopped scrolling for, we want to see them.

What you'll do
  • Motion graphics for Merge's social media posts and announcements

  • Launch videos and intro videos for new collaborations and releases

  • Visual assets for blog posts and other digital content

  • Visual projects briefed by the founder (decks, product visuals, marketing assets)

  • Help maintain a consistent visual language for Merge across channels

What we're looking for
  • Strong, demonstrable motion design experience - a portfolio with intro videos, product launch videos, or explainer-style motion work is essential.

  • Ability to deliver in the formats we need - video for social, animated formats for web (e.g., Lottie), and editable source files handed over with final assets

  • Solid visual design fundamentals - typography, layout, color so static assets are just as sharp as animated ones.

  • Ability to take a brief from rough idea to finished output with minimal hand-holding

  • Reliable turnaround times and clear communication - we'd like this to be a long-term working relationship, not a one-off project

  • Experience working with fintech, and/or crypto companies.

NOTE: Please include a link to your portfolio when submitting your application.

Engagement structure

We're open to per-project pricing or a flexible monthly retainer, depending on what works best for both sides. Please share your portfolio, preferred engagement model and indicative rates when you reach out, and we can shape the engagement together.

What you need to know about the Edinburgh Tech Scene

From traditional pubs and centuries-old universities to sleek shopping malls and glass-paneled office buildings, Edinburgh's architecture reflects its unique blend of history and modernity. But the fusion of past and future isn't just visible in its buildings; it's also shaping the city's economy. Named the United Kingdom's leading technology ecosystem outside of London, Edinburgh plays host to major global companies like Apple and Adobe, as well as a growing number of innovative startups in fields like cybersecurity, finance and healthcare.
