Job Description:
At ROOM42 (we are 21GRAMS' in-house production company) we are on the lookout for someone passionate about growing a career in design and motion-design, who takes pride in their work, loves attention to detail and enjoys being part of a team.
You are a graphic designer who thinks in both still and moving images—someone who can confidently start with a blank canvas, craft compelling layouts from scratch, and bring them to life through thoughtful animation. You’re as comfortable concepting and designing as you are animating, with a strong sense of visual storytelling across formats and platforms.
Real Chemistry is looking for a Graphic + Motion Designer to join our growing team!
This is a hybrid role, based in any of our UK offices—including London, Manchester and Edinburgh—depending on team and business needs. There is a preference for proximity to our Manchester office.
What you’ll do:
Concept and design original static layouts and animated content—you won’t just be handed assets to animate
Work closely with creatives and strategists to develop content that’s smart, on-brand, and scroll-stopping
Design for a wide range of formats, from social carousels and digital ads to branded videos and campaign visuals
Translate storyboards, illustrations, and brand elements into eye-catching motion
Work hands-on in After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Figma
Manage multiple projects with a collaborative, solutions-first mindset

What you should have:
5+ years experience in both motion and graphic design (agency or in-house preferred
A portfolio that shows self-initiated layout design and animation—not just execution
Strong eye for typography, composition, and visual rhythm
Experience designing for social-first content and adapting work across platforms
Proficiency in After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop (Premiere Pro a plus)
Great communication skills and comfort with hybrid/remote collaboration
Full-time availability, Monday–Friday
Working with Real HART: Since the pandemic, we have adapted to how our people told us they want to work. We have office locations in cities in the US, UK, and Europe with many employees and clients that serve as hubs where and when they need us. For employees who are within an hour of one of our offices, we expect attendance in the office two days per week, either at a Real Chemistry office or onsite with clients.
