Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity to join the Mobile User Objective System - Service Life Extension Program (MUOS-SLE) reporting to the Director, MUOS-SLE Program. The Project Management Specialist will join the MUOS-SLE Program team in El Segundo, CA.
This role requires effective communication, influence, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively across teams and functions. The ideal candidate works well independently with people across organizations with varying backgrounds and experience and will have a proven track record of successfully managing and integrating projects from initiation through completion.
Our team is currently hiring Level 5 Project Management Specialist.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Lead complex, cross functional projects from concept through implementation, ensuring on time delivery, within budget and alignment with business objectives
  • Manage multiple high-impact projects simultaneously, balancing competing priorities across all functional teams
  • Directs and provides high level studies/analysis (trend, variance, impact), determines scope, reports, and oversight of planning requests
  • Mentor and coach project team members promoting project management best practices and career development
  • Assignment examples:
    • Leadership of Program maturity (Gate) progress and completion
    • Management of Government Furnished Equipment
    • Leadership of response to customer Engineering Change Proposals
    • Leadership of Program Boards
    • Oversight of Program Design and Readiness Reviews

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • 10+ years of experience in Program or Project Management.
  • 5+ years of experience developing presentation materials suitable for executive level management.
  • 5+ years of experience building relationships and partnering with all levels of employees, including executives.
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, quality, or program management functional positions.
  • Experience leading projects that require integration across business units and/or multiple functions
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Engineering, Finance or a related field

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience in space/satellite systems.
  • Experience with engineering and program management processes including business development, space hardware development, integration and test.
  • Ability to adjust priorities to multiple demands and unanticipated events.
  • Demonstrated skills in establishing, managing and administering multiple projects concurrently.
  • Active Secret or Top Secret clearance is preferred

Summary pay range:
$168,300 - $227,700
