Title and Summary
Network Support Engineer
As a Network Support Engineer, you will be supporting national critical infrastructure in a dynamic and agile environment. You'll be hands-on, giving technical help to customers both internal and external, being the first point of contact for network related issues of a large multi-site, multi-vendor network communication environment.
24x7 support commitments will require participation in a rota based, on-call system that will result in callouts outside of standard working hours.
Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and resolve network communication and operational issues, impacting national critical infrastructure and internal networks.
Provide network support out of hours as part of an on-call rota
Configure and manage network devices including routers, switches, firewalls and VPN's.
Collaborate with vendors and service providers to resolve network-related issues.
Manage installs of WAN networks
Collaborating in Agile planning sessions.
Implementing project work assigned via Agile Release Trains.
Carrying out Network changes out of hours as per company change policies.
Document network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting processes to maintain accurate records.
Contribute to the implementation of network security protocols and best practices to protect company data.
Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously enhance your knowledge and skillset.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute positively to team dynamics.
A proactive approach to learning and professional development.
Escalate unsolved issues to relevant internal or external teams.
Knowledge & Experience:
1-3 years of IT experience in:
Networking (LAN/WAN, Firewalls, Security technologies).
TCP/IP protocol communications.
Strong knowledge of Cisco's/Palo/F5 product portfolio.
Familiarity with Project Management methodologies and best practices.
Enterprise networks.
WAN Networks.
CCNA certification or equivalent.
Experience working within a Fintech.
Policy based VPN Technologies.
Experience with SSL certificate management and implementation.
Understanding of Network Security principles.
Knowledge of SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework).
Skills & Abilities:
Well established Troubleshooting techniques.
Proficiency in network technologies such as BGP, OSPF, VPN, MPLS.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute positively to team dynamics.
A proactive approach to learning and professional development.
Work Conditions:
Supporting 24/7 global network environment - Which entails between 1-4/1-6 on call rotation folloing Monday 17:00 - Monday 08:0
Occasional travel may be required.
