Computershare has an excellent opportunity to join our ever-growing technology department as an NOC Analyst. This position sits within our Service Operations department located in Edinburgh, who support our IT systems and employees across our global sites. Working in Service Operations gives you a great understanding of our wider business as you get to work with multiple different business lines and see the many different transactions and work that Computershare is involved in.

Maintaining optimal efficiency of our systems at a global scale plays a key part in ensuring Computershare continue to deliver the highest levels of service to our clients and employees around the world. 

A role you will love   

As a NOC Analyst, you’ll be part of a collaborative and skilled team responsible for ensuring the stability and performance of critical systems. You’ll monitor infrastructure, respond to alerts, and participate in incident resolution by escalating appropriately and working alongside the wider team to restore service.  

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Monitoring infrastructure and network performance using advanced tools to detect and respond to issues in real time. 
  • Responding to alerts and incidents, escalating appropriately, and working alongside the wider team to restore service quickly and efficiently. 
  • Identifying and resolving critical incidents within agreed SLAs to minimize impact and downtime. 
  • Contributing to continuous improvement by spotting opportunities for process optimisation and automation. 
  • Troubleshooting technical issues across servers, networks, and applications. 
  • Maintaining infrastructure integrity through routine checks, updates, and documentation. 
  • Log, categorise, and prioritise global incidents, ensuring timely and accurate response. 
  • Perform routine tasks using Linux command-line systems, maintaining operational consistency. 
  • Carry out system operations on critical core services, including monitoring overnight batch processes and responding to alerts, escalating as necessary. 
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with teams across the organisation to support seamless incident resolution and service delivery. 
  • Use monitoring tools to generate reports that support data-driven decisions and service enhancements. 
  • Ensure procedures and documentation are kept current, and communicate any updates clearly to the team. 
  • Adhere to internal and external audit requirements, business regulations, and service level agreements in all work carried out by the Global Service Centre.  
     

The flexibility to work 12-hour shifts and bank holidays is a must for this position, along with a weekend shift rotation (2 in every 4 weekends). We will require you to work in the office Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm during your initial 4 week induction, your shift pattern will then resume thereafter. 
 
Shift pattern will likely be either 4 or 5 on, 4 or 5 off, working a mixture of 12-hour day/night shifts (7am – 7pm & 7pm – 7am).  

What will you bring to the role?    

As you can imagine, we need you to have great attention to detail. Supporting critical systems isn’t an easy job, so being able to think on your feet, problem solve and think outside the box are some key skills that you’ll need for this role.   
  
Communication is key; you need to be able to build effective working relationships, work closely with your team to keep up to date with changes and bring your ideas to the table.   

Key Skills Required: 

  • Experience in a technical environment, ideally within a NOC, IT support, or systems administration role.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to think critically under pressure. 
  • Solid troubleshooting skills, with a strong focus on triage and first-time fix.  
  • Familiarity with Linux systems and command-line operations.
  • Understanding of ITIL frameworks is highly advantageous.  
  • A passion for continual learning and professional development 
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to contribute to technical discussions and incident calls. 
  • A mindset geared toward service improvement, collaboration, and innovation. 
  • Proficiency in Linux, with strong command-line skills. 
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools such as Zscaler ZDX, AlertSite, SolarWinds, or similar. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and act decisively under pressure. 
  • Excellent communication and teamwork, with a collaborative mindset and attention to detail.
