Since we opened our doors in 2009, the world of commerce has evolved immensely, and so has Square. After enabling anyone to take payments and never miss a sale, we saw sellers stymied by disparate, outmoded products and tools that wouldn't work together.
So we expanded into software and started building integrated, omnichannel solutions - to help sellers sell online, manage inventory, offer buy now, pay later functionality, book appointments, engage loyal buyers, and hire and pay staff. Across it all, we've embedded financial services tools at the point of sale, so merchants can access a business loan and manage their cash flow in one place. Afterpay furthers our goal to provide omnichannel tools that unlock meaningful value and growth, enabling sellers to capture the next generation shopper, increase order sizes, and compete at a larger scale.
Today, we are a partner to sellers of all sizes - large, enterprise-scale businesses with complex operations, sellers just starting, as well as merchants who began selling with Square and have grown larger over time. As our sellers grow, so do our solutions. There is a massive opportunity in front of us. We're building a significant, meaningful, and lasting business, and we are helping sellers worldwide do the same.
The Role
Square is looking for a dynamic UK Partnerships Manager to expand and strengthen strategic third-party relationships. Responsible for driving revenue growth through partner channels, optimising collaboration, and maximising performance. Ideal for a results-driven professional with experience in partnership management and business development.
You Will

  • Be responsible for the full partner lifecycle. You will source, sign, and manage partners end to end to drive Square's new seller acquisition goals in the UK
  • Oversee our relationships with a broad set of distribution partners that will include independent sales organisations, resellers, consultants and service providers. You may also scale our partner programme across our portfolio of channel and integrated partners.
  • Be measured against a set of KPIs that will include growth of the UK partner ecosystem, alongside the number and value of new customers acquired via your partners
  • Understand Square's company strategy inside and out and communicate the value of Square's brand and product ecosystem
  • Build deep relationships with internal and external stakeholders to grow Square's relationships with distribution partners
  • Manage all aspects of the relationship with your partners: from initial scoping and negotiation; to financial assessment and forecasting; training and enablement; and ongoing partner management
  • Work with a broad range of internal global and local team members in Channel Sales, Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Account Management, Product, Engineering, Finance, and Legal

You Have

  • 5+ years professional experience, in business development or partner management within the payments industry. You have experience working with ISOs, resellers, and service provider partnerships.
  • Experience evaluating opportunities with regard to impact on strategy, brand, finance and operations.
  • A compelling and inspired vision and sense of common purpose, with a willingness to look beyond what's possible today.
  • Built successful relationships with external parties; worked with executives and senior leadership to explore new opportunities
  • Managed projects with multiple partners; set clear milestones and hold people (and self) accountable to goals
  • A successful track record of managing complex deals and cross-functional projects
  • Experience building relationships with senior business leaders, both internally and externally
  • Experience working with a range of teams, managing initiatives at scale and delivering on results
