As a Payments Product Controller in our Payments Product Control team, you will spend each day collaborating with the Global Strategic Project team to develop payments infrastructure and actively participate in new business and change management initiatives. Job responsibilities
- Ensure new infrastructure & business initiatives meets regulatory, accounting, and internal control requirements.
- Act as the finance subject matter expert in cross-functional teams launching new products or services.
- Assess financial implications, risks, and controls for new business proposals & oversee integration of financial data flows and reporting capabilities within payments platforms.
- Lead or support change management activities related to finance processes, systems, and controls within the payments domain.
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with SOX, US GAAP, local GAAP, and firm policies.
- Document and address exceptions or issues arising from new infrastructure or business initiatives.
- Liaise with business, technology, risk, and compliance teams to ensure finance requirements are incorporated in all projects.
- Provide regular updates and insights to senior management and stakeholders on project progress and financial impacts.
- Handle people management responsibilities which include management of work planning, Resource utilization and individual development and growth of team members.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Excellent communication skills and executive presence including the ability to present complex and sensitive matters to Senior management, Product Managers & Business Managers across levels.
- Managing people or teams in a matrix organization with proven success contributing to complex, large-scale initiatives
- Analytical mind-set, structure approach, attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and team-building skills
- Ability to manage several projects and reporting requirements concurrently.
- Ability to evaluate the design and effectiveness of internal controls.
- Ability to work in a matrix organization with limited local oversight ensuring timely escalation & resolution of issues.
- Proven skills in identifying and resolving control issues that may impact financial results.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Good knowledge of Liquidity, transaction Banking and Trade Finance products & SAP ledger system is preferred.
- Qualified accountant preferably with 14 years' experience within the Financial Services industry with project management and controller experience.
