Job Title: People and Development Partner  

Salary range: £30,000 - £35,000

Location: Edinburgh / Glasgow - Hybrid 

Role type: Fixed term contract – 12 months

Desired start date: January 2025

Closing date: 26th November

What we’re looking for… 

As a People and Development Partner you will provide professional HR support and guidance to employees, management, and the wider business. You will be responsible for supporting and advising managers on employment matters such as performance management, ER cases, disciplinary and grievance, and absences and any consultation projects. In addition, there will be a variety of projects to get involved with supporting the People and Culture and Talent Team. Some projects already on our 2025 planner include, New Performance Management process, integration projects as part of our ongoing Merger and Acquisition plans.


Responsibilities: 

  • To arrange and manage employee performance reviews in line with the Performance Management Policy and framework 
  • To provide advice and support with absence and general ER case management, and disciplinary and grievances 
  • To educate, partner with, or coach employees and management on performance management, learning and development, career progression and their overall HR question and needs 
  • To facilitate with recruitment, and induction sessions 
  • Manage Payroll 
  • Engage in and manage key People & Culture projects, including performance management, diversity and inclusion, and the planning of our annual conference, Connect.


Tools used: 

  • Greenhouse or similar recruitment platform 
  • Oracle, NetSuite or similar HR platform 
  • Microsoft: Excel, Forms, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, Word, Visio 


Qualifications / Experience 

Essential: 

  • CIPD Level 5 / Level 7, or at least 3 years’ experience of working in Human Resources 
  • Employment law knowledge 
  • Employee relations knowledge and experience – particularly in Absence Management and Disciplinary and Grievance 
  • Understanding of all aspects of the Employee Lifecycle 
  • Understanding of the CIPD Profession Map 2018 


Desirable: 

  • Line management skillset

  • Communication skills – verbal and non-verbal 
  • Team working – within the department and cross-functional 
  • Build sound employee relations with employees and management
