🚀 We’re on a mission to make money work for everyone.

We’re waving goodbye to the complicated and confusing ways of traditional banking.

After starting as a prepaid card, our product offering has grown a lot in the last 10 years in the UK. As well as personal and business bank accounts, we offer joint accounts, accounts for 16-17 year olds, a free kids account and credit cards in the UK, with more exciting things to come beyond. Our UK customers can also save, invest and combine their pensions with us.

With our hot coral cards and get-paid-early feature, combined with financial education on social media and our award winning customer service, we have a long history of creating magical moments for our customers!

We’re not about selling products - we want to solve problems and change lives through Monzo ❤️

⭐ Our People Product team

We call it Monzo Magic. Mission. Action. Growth. Inclusion. Care. It runs through everything that we do and within the People Collective it’s how we set Monzo up for success by bringing mission led people together to do work and banking differently. We foster a culture that centres on our customers and brings together the best of tech with the best of banking. We empower a diverse, high performing, innovative and agile workforce in doing the most impactful work of their careers to date. It’s an ambitious task to scale this culture and ways of working, but it’s a mission we’re committed to.

We’re building People Product at Monzo because we believe the way we support Monzonauts should scale as brilliantly as Monzo itself.

People Product is a new chapter for Monzo, and a big part of how we’ll continue to grow thoughtfully as we scale. Today, some of our most important people initiatives and annual employee milestones are spread across different squads, or do not yet have a clear long-term home. We want to bring that work together into one high-impact squad that owns the research, development and continuous improvement of the employee lifecycle.

This small but mighty team will shape how Monzonauts experience key moments across their journey at Monzo. From ideation to delivery, the squad will build in a way that keeps employee experience, controls, governance and clear documentation at the heart of everything we do.

We’re building this team because we don’t want to be complacent about scaling. We want the time, capacity and focus to take on thorny challenges well, and to create thoughtful, effective people products that put Monzonaut's experience first.

Initially the People Product squad will take on: Performance and Culture.

🔑You’ll play a key role by…

…building internal products that empower our teams to do the best work of their lives. We’re looking for a People Product specialist to join our mission in making Performance at Monzo feel less like a "process" and more like a world-class experience.

You’ll sit right at the heart of People Product, Partnering, People Ops, and Reward. Your goal? To treat the "employee performance experience" as a product: building something intuitive, evidence-based, and deeply rooted in our values.

What you’ll be doing

Think of this as your chance to help shape the future of how we drive Performance at Monzo. You won’t just be managing a cycle; you’ll be optimizing an ecosystem.

As you scale with us, you will:

  • Own the Performance lifecycle: Deep-dive into every touchpoint of the performance journey, from ambitious goal-setting and real-time feedback to meaningful reviews and personal development.
  • Bridge the Gaps: Work cross-functionally with People Ops, Partners, Reward, and Tech to build and lead the execution of seamless, end-to-end processes that actually work for humans.
  • Be Data-Driven: Use research and analytics to spot friction, measure what matters, and ruthlessly prioritiSe the work that has the biggest impact.
  • Test & Learn: We’re big on experimentation. You’ll pilot new ideas and iterate constantly, always keeping the Monzonaut experience front and center.

The impact you’ll make

You’ll play a key role in shaping how performance works at Monzo. Working closely with our People Product Lead, you’ll help turn our approach to performance into something clear, impactful and grounded in what Monzonauts and managers actually need. This is a role with real scope to shape the direction, not just deliver against a plan.

What you’ll own

Discovery and design
You’ll use research, data and feedback to understand where the performance experience is working well and where it is falling short. That could include surveys, interviews and analysis, all with the aim of identifying practical improvements that will make a meaningful difference for Monzonauts.

Building the toolkit
You’ll partner closely with People Tech to design tools and experiences that make performance simpler, more useful and easier to navigate. This could include self-service dashboards, better feedback loops and tools that support managers to do their best work.

Shipping and iterating
You’ll test ideas, run pilots and learn quickly from what works. We care about thinking big, starting small and improving as we go, so you’ll be comfortable validating ideas before scaling them more widely across Monzo.

Running the show
You’ll manage and coordinate central performance projects, collaborating with a wide variety of SMEs and workstream leads to keep everything on track, and keeping stakeholders up to date.

Landing the change
You’ll help make sure new tools and approaches are adopted well and have the impact we intended. That means thinking not just about what we build, but how we communicate it, support people through it and make it feel clear and usable in practice.

Measuring success
You’ll define how we measure success and track whether changes are improving the experience over time, from how often feedback happens to how people feel about the experience overall.

Keeping it fair
You’ll help make sure the performance experience is thoughtful, consistent and fair, spotting risks like bias, unnecessary complexity or unintended consequences early.

🤩 We’d love to hear from you if…
  • You care deeply about making Monzo a better place to work, and you want to build things that make a meaningful difference for Monzonauts.
  • You’re collaborative and thoughtful in how you work, and you’re good at bringing people together across teams, disciplines and time zones.
  • You’re good at getting to the heart of a problem, especially when things feel messy or unclear.
  • You’re comfortable switching between longer-term thinking and the practical work needed to keep things moving.
  • You use data to drive decisions, while staying close to the human experience behind it.
  • You have strong judgement and can make thoughtful calls, even when there is no perfect answer.
  • You’re comfortable challenging the status quo and asking whether there’s a better way to do things.
  • You’re curious and passionate about learning, and you enjoy sharing ideas and helping others learn too.

Not ticking every box? That’s okay! Studies show that women and people of colour might hesitate to apply unless they meet every single requirement. At Monzo, we’re dedicated to creating a diverse and welcoming team. If you’re passionate about this role and keen to learn and grow with us, we encourage you to apply, even if you don’t have everything that's listed just yet. Drop us your application, we’d love to hear from you!

What you need to know about the Edinburgh Tech Scene

From traditional pubs and centuries-old universities to sleek shopping malls and glass-paneled office buildings, Edinburgh's architecture reflects its unique blend of history and modernity. But the fusion of past and future isn't just visible in its buildings; it's also shaping the city's economy. Named the United Kingdom's leading technology ecosystem outside of London, Edinburgh plays host to major global companies like Apple and Adobe, as well as a growing number of innovative startups in fields like cybersecurity, finance and healthcare.
