Purpose

As General Services Performance Accountant, you will monitor all aspects of General Services UK budget, External Services, Income, Capital and Right of Use expenditure. Your key responsibility will be producing reports with supporting analysis to ensure effective budget management.

General Services is Corporate Function that provides an array of Land, Estate, Building and Employee Services to all locations in ScottishPower and all employees.

Responsibilities

Being responsible for the accurate reporting of expenditure against a Totex budget circa £60m (Opex circa £20m, Capex circa £40m including ROU processing), you will be required to provide a comprehensive analysis of all financial and non-financial business performance on a monthly basis.

Assisting with the management of stakeholders within our Corporate business area and across our Group to ensure expectations are met regarding submission of results, you will produce budget and forecast data which is accurate and efficiently loaded to SAP and Teams, reporting in line with set deadlines.

Preparing all relevant and accurate supporting commentaries and analysis for reporting requirements, you will be required to maintain and demonstrate a good accounting knowledge, helping ensure costs are accurately and efficiently reflected in the general ledger and related accounting models.

Playing an active part with key business issues, ensuring financial implications are fully understood and considered, you will monitor financial performance to enable progress towards business objectives, confirming key performance indicators are clearly reported.

What you’ll bring

Educated with a Chartered Accountancy (CA) qualification or possessing an equivalent qualification through experience, you will possess an understanding of FRS16 to support the management and processing of Right of Use (ROU).

Possessing practical experience with SAP, you will have a strong delivery focus and a high level of resilience to deal with the continually changing demands and time pressures of the role.  Allowing you to produce accurate analysis and reporting within significant timeframes and workloads, being highly numerate with strong analytical skills, possessing the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely to all stakeholders.

Utilising your strong influencing and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively, you will be comfortable when constructively challenging across the organisation.
