Pharmaceutical Forecasting Consultant
Within our Forecasting division, the goal is to predict future performance of drugs, such as sales, demand, market share, or patient adoption. This involves a combination of data analysis, modeling, and business insights.
What You'll Do
- Gather historical sales data for drugs.
- Collect epidemiological data (disease prevalence, incidence rates).
- Obtain market intelligence: competitor products, pricing, market share.
- Clean and structure data to make it suitable for analysis (handle missing values, outliers, and inconsistencies).
- Analyze patient populations (target population size, treatment patterns).
- Assess disease burden and trends.
- Study market dynamics, such as competitor launches, generics, and patent expirations.
- Evaluate physician prescribing behaviors and treatment guidelines.
- Use statistical methods (time series analysis, regression models) to predict sales.
- Apply more advanced techniques like machine learning for demand prediction.
- Scenario modeling for different market conditions (best case, worst case, base case).
- Incorporate seasonality, market growth trends, and promotional activities.
- Test assumptions under different scenarios (price changes, market entry of competitors, regulatory changes).
- Identify key drivers of forecast outcomes.
- Conduct sensitivity analysis to see how changes in inputs affect predictions.
What You'll Bring
- 4+ years of forecasting project work experience in the pharmaceutical/life sciences industry
- Evidence of strong analytic work (including use of advanced modeling techniques and tools such as R, SAS, Tableau, or VBA)
- Experience working on EU/UK centric projects
- Strong academic background within a STEM related degree
