MOO set out to shake up the world of print back in 2006. And we’ve come a long way since. Today we’re a 400 + strong team (we’re thinking of getting matching jackets) who create print and digital products for companies of all sizes – from Google and AirBnB to the guy who makes those amazing prints you found at a craft fair.

Our global HQ is in London, UK, while we also have premises in Dagenham. In the US, you’ll find us in Boston, MA, as well as East Providence, RI and Denver, CO.

We’re making new and exciting things – and we could really do with your help.

The Platform Engineering team at MOO is a group of three engineers focused on building and operating the infrastructure, tooling, and systems that empower our engineering teams to deliver high-quality software quickly and safely. We enable everything from deployments and environments to observability and cloud architecture – acting as the internal backbone of MOO's tech stack.

We’re hiring a Platform Engineering Manager to lead our team as we transition from Kubernetes to a modern Serverless architecture on AWS. This role is key to evolving our internal platform, improving the developer experience, and supporting the wider business strategy by enabling faster, safer, and more scalable software delivery. With a focus on both execution and people leadership, this is a pivotal role in shaping MOO’s future technical foundations.

You’re a technically capable, people-focused leader with a clear vision of effective platform engineering. You understand the value of internal platforms and can balance delivery, team development, and system reliability. You’re focused on improving developer workflows and thrive on creating environments where engineers can do their best work.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a high-performing Platform Engineering team through coaching, mentoring, and clear technical direction
  • Drive the migration from Kubernetes to a serverless architecture on AWS
  • Evolve our platform infrastructure using Terraform and modern CI/CD practices
  • Improve developer productivity through thoughtful tooling, automation, and streamlined deployment processes
  • Partner with engineering teams to identify pain points and drive continuous improvements
  • Maintain high standards of reliability, observability, and operational excellence
  • Collaborate with architecture, product, and data teams to ensure platform alignment with business needs
  • Manage vendor relationships with AWS and other infrastructure/tooling providers

About You

  • Proven experience leading Platform, DevOps, or SRE teams in a cloud-native environment
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of AWS, with an emphasis on serverless services
  • Proficiency in infrastructure as code (Terraform), CI/CD pipelines, and cloud operations
  • A clear and collaborative communication style across technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • A focus on improving engineering effectiveness through tooling and process enhancements
  • The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on technical decision-making
  • A commitment to building inclusive, collaborative, and high-trust engineering cultures

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Kubernetes, particularly during platform transitions
  • Exposure to platform-as-a-product approaches or developer portals
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001 or SOC 2
  • Knowledge of AWS multi-account setups, Control Tower, or advanced IAM practices
  • A background in cloud cost optimisation or FinOps practices
