About Skyscanner

Everyone loves travelling, but planning is not without its challenges ✈️. That's why we've spent 20 years building tools that turn travel-planning chaos into a breeze. Today, around 100 million travellers count on us every month to skip the whole “47 browser tabs open” phase and find flights, cars, and hotels quickly and easily 💻.

Joining Skyscanner means becoming part of a global brand that's striving to become the planet's go-to travel hack accessible for all 🌍.

Our vision? To be the world's number one travel ally. (Ambitious? 💪 Yes, but, hey, that's what got us here)

About the role
(Hybrid)

Strategic data leadership: As our Principal Product Manager - Data, you’ll be the driving force behind the data products that power business decisions, partner experiences and revenue growth. Think big, influential data sets that unlock insight and momentum across Skyscanner.

Operating at scale: You’ll work across multiple cross-functional teams, navigating ambiguity, shifting priorities and bold ambitions - all while keeping a sharp focus on real value for travellers and internal customers.

Setting the standard: Our squads are empowered, fast-moving and constantly shipping. You’ll help define the repeatable patterns, best practices and future-ready data product strategy that helps them do their best work.

What you’ll be doing in this Principal Level IC role:

  • Defining strategic direction: Building and owning the long-term vision for our data products, ensuring they deliver clarity, insight and measurable business impact.
  • Creating repeatable excellence: Establishing standards, patterns and best practices that help central and federated data teams move faster (and smarter).
  • Spotting opportunities: Partnering with internal customers to uncover unmet needs, innovation potential and new ways data can power the business.
  • Prioritising what matters: Turning big, exciting ideas into clear requirements, features and use cases grounded in user value and outcomes.
  • Partnering for delivery: Collaborating closely with Engineering, Business Analysis and Data Science to land meaningful improvements.
  • Measuring success: Defining KPIs that genuinely matter (no vanity metrics here) and using them to guide iteration and direction.
  • Getting hands-on with data: Writing SQL to analyse performance, surface insights and make evidence-based decisions.

About you

  • Experienced product leader: You’ve shipped impactful data products in fast-paced, product-led environments and know how to stay calm in complexity.
  • Stakeholder wrangler: You’re a natural collaborator who can align teams, influence direction and balance diverse internal needs.
  • Data-savvy thinker: You blend analytical rigour with strategic thinking, using data to guide decisions and spark innovation.
  • Technically fluent: You understand data warehousing, ETL, modelling, semantic layers and ML concepts well enough to challenge and elevate thinking.
  • A mentor and multiplier: You enjoy supporting junior PMs and raising the bar across the product discipline.
  • Adaptable and impact-focused: You thrive in changing contexts and always look for the smartest path to meaningful outcomes.
  • Curious and customer-obsessed: You’re energised by big, ambiguous problems and passionate about how data can make Skyscanner better for travellers and partners.
