We are seeking a highly skilled Principal RMS Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our innovation teams, you will apply your expertise in RMS engineering to analyze digital and analog electronics, power supplies, and systems of electronic modules to ensure reliability, maintainability, and safety requirements are achieved.
Responsibilities:

  1. Safety Analysis: Execute key safety analyses, including MIL-STD-882E tasks such as Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA), Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Common Mode Analysis (CCA), Particular Risk Analysis (PRA), Common Mode Analysis, and Safety Assessments (SAR).
  2. Project Work: Perform as an individual contributor or point person responsible to the program(s). Mentor and direct junior engineers as required.
  3. Reliability and Maintainability Analysis: Conduct Reliability and Maintainability Analysis and Modeling, Design Failure Modes Effects Analysis (DFMEA), and Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) assessments.
  4. Testing and Presentations: Negotiate, plan, and conduct reliability, maintainability and safety related tests. Present findings and conclusions with recommended corrective actions to internal management and customers.
  5. Failure Analysis: Perform failure trend analysis, failure investigation, and Root Cause analysis. Coordinate failure analysis with vendors or failure analysis labs.
  6. Proposal Activities: Participate in proposal activities, preparing proposal inputs using Functional Bid Metrics.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Scientific Field
  • 6+ years of experience in RMS Engineering disciplines
  • Execute functional tasks with high efficiency and autonomy
  • Proven track record in leading and completing key safety engineering tasks associated with MIL-STD-882E, ARP4761, and ARP4754A analyses
  • Experience performing Failure Analysis and Corrective Action activities
  • Familiarity with Reliability Prediction Analysis and Reliability Growth methodologies
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Candidate must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Electronic Warfare Systems background
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and 4 or more years of relevant engineering experience within the Safety Engineering discipline.
  • Experience with PTC Windchill Quality Solutions and ReliaSoft
  • Familiarity with Integrated Logistics analysis, techniques, and software tools
  • Experience with Reliability Modeling and Analysis in accordance with MIL-HDBK-217, MIL-STD-1629A, MIL-STD-1472G, NAS411, MIL-HDBK-516C and other relevant standards
  • Experience with Fault Tree Analysis Experience in technical documentation and report generation Experience in Laser, RF energy applications Experience in Software Safety Analysis, including Software FMEA Experience with AS9145 Awareness and experience with implementing safety analysis data into a Model-Based Engineering environment
  • Leadership experience and strong interpersonal skills preferred


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $126305 - $214718
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
