ROLE OVERVIEW
Here at tms we work with one of the biggest brands in the world, McDonald's. They are our largest client and a truly amazing brand recognised the world over. With this role you will have responsibility for delivery of merchandising services - think Happy Meal Box and Point of Sale - for the McDonald's Family Business across UK, France, Germany and the rest of the EU. For each Happy Meal promotion in the EU alone, 12 million boxes are produced across 35 different markets!
As Packaging Project Manager here at TMS you will be an excellent communicator and love working with suppliers and customers in other countries, as well as other teams across the agency such as Client Services and Studio.

RESPONSIBILITIES
You will bring project management skills and proven experience of working in a cross- functional team, preferably within print and packaging. Being a first-class communicator will come naturally to you, and you will have strong coordination skills and a high level of attention to detail to match.
You will contribute to any tasks with enthusiasm, flexibility, positive thinking and an open mind.
Digging deeper on the details
Management:

  • Manage day to day interaction with internal teams e.g. creative & graphics services, PD, procurement, QA etc. as it applies to packaging and POP projects. Develop close working relationship with client and other stakeholders to facilitate approval process.


Communication:

  • Act as a conduit for effective exchange of information across the network of Family Marketing and Happy Meal stakeholders (McD Marketing, Agencies, third party suppliers, and tms internal)
  • Collaborate on an ongoing basis with internal tms Packaging Sourcing, Product Development, Procurement and Finance departments in the UK
  • Writing of minutes for meetings and calls attended and sharing of key outtakes with wider team
  • Wherever possible seize opportunities to act as an "enabler" for McDonald's Family Marketing sharing and scaling best practice as appropriate


Merchandising/Creative Facilitation:

  • Project manage packaging and POP projects on a promotional and ad-hoc basis
  • Facilitate creative development process for Happy Meal boxes, merchandise and other communications materials as appropriate
  • Responsible for briefing all HM packaging and POP artwork into repro
  • Collaborate with the studio in artwork finalization process and distribution to markets using Digital Asset Manager platform
  • Attend and present at pre-artwork (Approvals) meetings with the client, design agencies, suppliers, printers etc.
  • Review and carry out checks on final artwork to ensure alignment with HM Brand guidelines before releasing for production in support of the studio team using an online staged approval workflow tool
  • Collaborate with external suppliers by confirming priorities, specifications and requirements to print technical teams
  • Manage and coordinate all artwork variants and languages for any packaging or POP promotion before supplying to printers
  • Assure safety and operational compliance for all packaging and POP items as required
  • Facilitate execution of HM Box Toy category by liaising effectively with all stakeholders involved (client services, QA, printers)


Timeline Management:

  • Create and maintain packaging and POP timelines to meet agreed critical path
  • Ensure all parties are aware of timelines and facilitate internal and external discussions relating to these timelines
  • Build and maintain internal project tracker to ensure total visibility of project progress for both internal and external use


Financial Management:

  • Ensure a solid understanding of invoicing of packaging projects. Ongoing communications with internal team and facilitate regular updates with client
  • Liaise with internal Packaging Sourcing, Product Development, Procurement and Finance departments in the UK to ensure accurate supply and pricing scenarios


Productivity:

  • Support Manager in focus on continuous improvement in regard to processes and projects
  • Strive to maximize efficiencies, effectiveness and to always add value for client's business


Internal relationships:

  • Support Manager in delivery of other initiatives relating to McDonald's or the tms business
  • Collaborate with Manager providing support on given projects on an ad-hoc basis.


SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Ideally you will have an experienced background in packaging and print, with strong client-facing project management skills.

  • Solid direct work experience in a project management or project administrator capacity (Agency Account, Project Management, packaging & POP, print, manufacturing)
  • Excellent communicator verbally and in writing with the ability to engage, influence and lead across international teams and at different levels of seniority.
  • Proven track record with juggling multiple complex projects in parallel
  • Customer service experience including client interaction
  • Experience of working in a marketing environment with a high profile B2C brand
  • Disciplined project and time manager.
  • Able to work under own initiative.
  • Ability to adapt to change, think laterally and proactively.
  • Strong business acumen.
