The role involves product management, campaign management, content creation, and marketing operations. It requires collaboration with teams to enhance customer experience through innovative marketing strategies.
We are looking for a Product & Marketing Executive who can wear many hats to support some of the most popular and exciting parts of the Octopus Energy brand. This is a hands-on role with real responsibility, where you’ll be trusted to run with projects, collaborate closely with others, and help bring Octopus to life for customers day-to-day.How we workOur small, well-crafted marketing team owns customer experience and for over 8 million households across Great Britain. We don’t do things the traditional way. No agencies, no slow sign-offs, no bloated teams. We have an exceptional in-house team of designers, developers, copywriters, and media buyers. We move fast, test constantly, and focus on what works. For the right person, this is freeing. For the wrong person, it’s chaos.
This is a really generalist role, so no two days will be the same. You’ll work on much-loved Octopus campaigns like Octoplus, our rewards scheme unlocking freebies from brands like Greggs and Vue for nearly 3 million customers, Saving Sessions, rewarding over 1 million customers for powering up when it’s windy and powering down to avoid fossil fuels, or Shoptopus: our merch store, where plushie octopuses and dreams are made.
What you'll do...
- Product development & management: help to develop new merch, sampling, shipping, maintaining the e-commerce site and all other logistics
- Managing rewards: coordinate with suppliers, partners and tech teams launch new offers; maintaining website and helping to identify and deliver improvements.
- Email Marketing: You’ll plan and execute impactful marketing communications that bring customers joy (seriously) and inspire action.
- Campaign management: whether it’s sending out electric blankets to thousands of customers or giving away Glastonbury tickets, you’ll come up with brilliant campaigns and bring them to customers quickly, creatively and on budget
- Content creation: you’ll create written and video content to support various projects
- Marketing Operations & Admin: You'll keep the marketing engine running smooth. From managing customer queries and internal Slack channels, updating knowledge bases, performance tracking to printing collateral, organising send-outs, to helping run events and shoots.
What you'll need...
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- A proactive self-starter, comfortable juggling multiple tasks
- Strong communication skills, and able to manage multiple stakeholders
- Collaborative: you’ll be an enthusiastic part of our friendly creative team
- T-shaped: you’re adaptable – rather than “that's not my area” you’ll say 'I’ll figure that out”
- Obsessed with humans: how we think, what makes us pay attention and gets us hooked on a product
- 2-3+ years of experience in a marketing role
- Bonus: Content creation experience!
This is mainly an office-based role, working from our London HQ in Oxford Circus 3-4 days a week.
