Job Description

Job Purpose / Overview

  • Working within the Digital and IT Team (D&IT) on the Sizewell C project
  • Project manage the implementation and delivery of multiple D&IT projects to time, cost and quality using the D&IT delivery methodology.
  • Work with the business Sponsor and business stakeholders to ensure that we deliver what the business needs.
  • Ensure that the business is able to adopt the digital capabilities provided.
  • Facilitate delivery assurance oversight.
  • Line manage any assigned Project Managers or Assistant Project Managers.
  • Report progress.

Contextual Information

The Projects Delivery Manager (PDM) will report to the Programme Manager and will be assigned projects primarily from the Operational IT Programme although wider involvement across the D&IT portfolio should be anticipated. The Programme Manager will provide support and a point of escalation. 

For all projects, the PDM will be required to work closely with the business and apply the D&IT delivery methodology and associated governance. The ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with all key stakeholders is key as is the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.

The PDM should have suitable experience of delivery across the project lifecycle on complex technical projects ideally within the digital and nuclear, or construction, industries.


Principal Accountabilities (Outputs of the Job – Activities & Decisions)

  • Co-ordinate the delivery of multiple projects and the outputs required by the business.
  • Manage scope, schedule, cost and contingency.
  • Manage change.
  • Ensure resources are allocated
  • Support the commercial strategy and contract management.
  • Manage project risks, actions, issues and dependencies.
  • Monitors overall progress and initiates corrective action, as appropriate, to ensure that deliverable are produced on time, within budget and to acceptable quality
  • Manages the communications with all stakeholders
  • Reporting progress of the project at regular intervals to the Sponsor, Steering Group or Senior Management

Qualifications

  • Background in digital development and applications is desriable.
  • Effective leadership and the ability to build high performing teams.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Great interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage people at all levels.
  • Confident decision-making ability.
  • Great organisational skills.
  • Highly experienced in project management in an IT or technical environment.
  • Previous experience of nuclear operations is desirable.
  • Previous experience in energy, construction or manufacturing is desirable
  • Flexibility to work at the London office or Sizewell C site in Suffolk as needed (~3 days per week) alongside flexible home working once established; this is to keep the workstream on schedule and enable effective communication with stakeholders on site.

Due to the nature of work to be undertaken applicants will be required to meet certain residency criteria in order to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance (BPSS).
