Project Manager – Distribution Business (SPD)

Location: Bonnybridge or Glenrothes office (office based with occasional site visits)

£44,000 - £55,000 + strong benefits package and excellent career progression opportunities/support.

We’re hiring a Project Manager to join our SP Energy Networks Distribution Business (SPD) team, supporting the Central and Fife District. You’ll manage and deliver technical projects for the distribution network, ensuring they meet specification, programme, and financial targets. Projects typically range from £500k to £1m, and while the role is primarily office based, occasional site visits throughout the district will be required.

What you’ll be doing

  • Deliver projects to specification, programme, and within authorised financial values.
  • Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations, Health, Safety & Environmental standards, and Energy Networks Quality Management System.
  • Prepare tender documentation, assess contractor submissions, and manage procurement processes.
  • Develop and maintain complex project plans, risk registers, and accurate CAPEX/OPEX forecasts.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Build strong relationships internally and externally to ensure successful project delivery.

What you’ll bring

  • Proven experience in project management or project coordination/delivery within utilities, civil engineering, or construction sectors.
  • Strong skills in planning, financial control, and stakeholder management.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience with project planning software, i.e Microsoft project
  • Professional certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, APM) desirable.
