The Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.

Job Responsibilities:
As a Quality Engineer, you will report to the Senior Quality Engineer. This role is responsible for leading and supporting all quality aspects impacting, sustaining and improving the plant performance.
Your Responsibilities

  • Analyse quality data to identify root causes of issues, opportunities for improvement and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Monitor quality performance through SPC and Cpk analysis.
  • Ensuring key performance indicators (KPIs) are achieved.
  • Lead/involvement in analysis and problem-solving activities (8D, 6-Sigma, etc.)
  • Lead Process audit and support LPA, 5S and system audit.
  • Support creation and submission of PPAP, Process flow, Control Plan, PFMEA, MSA, Capability studiers.
  • Lead/involvement in continuous improvement activities for plant (quality, lean, scrap, etc.)
  • Validating processes change and ensure documentation is up to date.
  • Support quality management and site management objectives and tasks.
  • Support quality management and site management reporting requirements.
  • Contribute towards the development and delivery of department and individual objectives to maintain/improve department and business performance.
  • Support site development and sustainment of QMS in line with standards and customer specific requirements.
  • Provide regular feedback through various mechanisms (daily, weekly and monthly reviews)


Who we are looking for:
Essential

  • Previous experience of leading and coaching teams
  • Excellent organization skills and management of priorities
  • Understanding of 7W / lean improvement
  • Experienced in problem solving leadership with strong analytical skills
  • Understanding of build standard creation (PFMEA, control plan, working level documents) and implementation / improvement of quality control systems
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to present to all levels of internal and external customers.
  • Understanding of measurement methods / methodology
  • PC literacy, including a working knowledge of reporting software, e.g. Microsoft Office
  • Resilient, self-driven and positive approach
  • Prepared to work within remit and across functions/levels as required
  • Systematic and logical approach
  • Flexibility


Desirable

  • Qualified to HNC level or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Experience of working within the automotive sector
  • 6-Sigma trained or trained in other problem solving methodologies (quality tools required)
  • QMS and quality systems / auditing experience
  • Experienced in IATF:16949 and core tools (APQP, FMEA, SPC, MSA and PPAP)
  • Knowledge of Minitab
