About the department

The Modelling and Quantitative Analytics team, a core part of abrdn’s Investment Team, supports public markets investment teams with tools, data, analysis, and insights to enhance investment processes and performance for clients. Within this group, the Equity Modelling & Quantitative Analytics team focuses on integrating quantitative signals and ideas into the active equity investment process by collaborating with regional equity teams. The broader team also includes functions dedicated to fixed income and multi-asset investments, alongside data and platform engineering capabilities, and engages in active research partnerships, notably with the Centre for Investing Innovation at Edinburgh University.

About the role

As a Quantitative Analyst, you will contribute to developing quantitative stock screening tools and engage with investment desks. Key responsibilities include:

  • Crafting and developing Python-based quantitative tools.

  • Adhering to consistent development practices.

  • Engaging with collaborators for requirements and feedback.

  • Sharing insights with portfolio managers and analysts.

  • Collaborating with data engineering and analytics teams.

About the candidate requirements

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Working knowledge of investment management.

  • Python development experience.

  • Experience handling large data sets.

  • Familiarity with machine learning and AI solutions.

  • Ability to work in an Agile team and gain collaborator confidence.
