The Quantum Theorist will conduct theoretical and computational projects on neutral atom quantum computing, collaborate with engineers, and develop simulations.
At Atom Computing, we build quantum computers using arrays of optically trapped neutral atoms that will empower customers to achieve unprecedented computational breakthroughs. Work alongside our Quantum Engineering, Control Systems, and Software teams to demonstrate the power of scalable, neutral-atom quantum computers.
We are seeking a Quantum Theorist in Denmark to contribute to a variety of projects that help with the development of neutral atom quantum computing. As a Quantum Theorist at Atom Computing, you will join a team of talented scientists and engineers who are working to translate fundamental atomic physics to a scalable, fault-tolerant quantum computer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct independent and collaborative theoretical and computational projects that drive the understanding and development of neutral atom quantum computers.
- Contribute to the development and operation of a variety of atomic physics simulations.
- Contribute to the development and operation of classical simulations of quantum hardware.
- Collaborate with Quantum Applications Engineers, Error Correction Theorists, and AMO Theorists to model experimental results, develop noise models for quantum hardware, and contribute to the design of neutral-atom quantum computers.
Experience & Education
- PhD (or Masters degree and equivalent professional experience) in Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with quantum with a focus in atomic physics
Qualifications
- Deep understanding of atomic, molecular and optical physics.
- Proficiency with software tools to simulate atomic structure and interactions between atoms and light.
- Experience with physics based simulations of gate operations and/or quantum error correction are pluses.
- Ability to adapt and develop complex computer programs.
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse team of experimental physicists, hardware, and software engineers.
