Your role and responsibilities

The Technical Specialist executes the prototyping assembly activity of low complexity devices, and executes simple tests in the laboratory department on different devices as per the agreed timeline and standards, using established solutions and tools.

Reporting to the CoE Laboratory Manager, you will work independently on prototyping, assembling, and executing verification, using solid skills in electromechanical technologies and methods for recognizing problems to provide input on solutions.

You will build a network internally for the exchange of information and best practices on device assembly. Consistently supporting department colleagues, providing support in one's own specific area. You will engage with team members to provide assistance based on your individual skill set. Furthermore, you will be responsible for your own working area and for prototype material management.

The work model for the role is onsite. #LI-Onsite
This role is contributing to the Power Protection department in Quartino, Switzerland.
You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Prototype Assembly & Testing Assemble electromechanical prototypes, set up laboratory equipment, and perform basic verification and validation.

  • Documentation Management Prepare, review, and update technical documents including cable lists, EDW, and SLD diagrams.

  • Quality & Knowledge Transfer Report unexpected issues during assembly with detailed documentation to support R&D and manufacturing teams.

  • Laboratory & Warehouse Oversight Maintain superior quality standards in the prototype lab and manage prototype materials in the dedicated warehouse.

Qualifications for the role

  • Technical degree in electromechanical or electrotechnics.

  • A few years of experience working as an electrotechnical or electromechanical specialist with UPS equipment or equivalent experience.

  • Good team cooperation work approach, as well as being able to work with minimal supervision.

  • A solution-focused approach and effective written and spoken communication skills.

  • Fluent in Italian and good knowledge of English (German is a plus).
