Job Purpose/Background:

The Fixed Income Trading Team in London is seeking a trader to cover the execution of core rates market products. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to interact effectively with portfolio managers, multiple internal groups, and the sell-side, in order to provide liquidity, best execution, and market flow information for investment activities in cash government bonds and interest rate derivative markets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide best execution in core rates cash and derivative markets for our Hedge Fund, Multi-Asset, LDI, Fundamental and Index Fixed Income teams
• Execute vanilla derivative instruments covering IRS & futures.
• Providing effective execution of cash markets alongside strong abilities in e-trading.
• Work with Market Structure and Trading Research teams to advance the FI ecosystem
• Provide insight into market activity and disseminate market intelligence and flow information
• Interact and develop close relationships with sell-side and provide input on counterparty relationships
• Management of orders, work flow, and prioritisation of trades

Qualifications:

• 2–3 years of experience in financial services
• Proven trading experience in fixed income markets
• Experience with trading platforms for example: Tradeweb, MarketAxess, FLEX, Bloomberg, BondVision
• At least intermediate coding skills in Python preferred
• Familiarity with Aladdin is a plus
• Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail
• Demonstrable ability to prioritise effectively in a high-volume, pressurised environment
• Motivated self-starter with the ability to work in an entrepreneurial environment
• Adaptable and enthusiastic about taking on ad hoc projects and tasks
• Strong communicator with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
• Advanced degree or CFA preferred
