This is Adyen

We took an unobvious approach to starting a payments company, building a platform from scratch. Today, we're the payments platform of choice for the world's brightest companies. Our unobvious approach is a product of our diverse perspectives. This diversity, of backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives, is essential in helping us maintain our momentum. Our business challenges are unique, we need as many different voices as possible to join us in solving them - voices like yours. So no matter where you’re from, who you love, or what you believe in, we welcome you to be your true self at Adyen.

Our Financial & ESG Reporting team, which forms part of the wider Global Reporting team is looking for a Financial Reporting Specialist with experience in the payments and/or finance industry. The Financial & ESG reporting team is responsible for financial and sustainability (ESG) reporting and as Adyen grows, so does the complexity of accounting and reporting, so we are looking for an enthusiastic colleague to help us navigate this constantly evolving landscape. As a Financial Reporting Specialist you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards, preparation of Adyen’s Financial Statements and working closely with teams across the business.

The successful candidate will play a central role in the Group Finance team as well as working as a business partner with a wide range of teams, including Group Finance, Enterprise Risk, Legal, Compliance and many others and provide pragmatic advice and guidance on technical financial reporting topics.

Although financial reporting will be your key focus, as a member of the wider Reporting team, you will be required to support the team across Regulatory and ESG reporting topics on ad-hoc basis.

What you’ll do

  • Translate the impact from complex transactions into financial reporting and work cross-functionally to assess the impact in finance (e.g. regulatory reporting; controlling, tax)
  • Lead technical financial reporting analysis on new products or expansion into new regions;
  • Manage and prepare financial reports, such as quarterly, half and full-year financial statements, in accordance with IFRS; Co-lead the annual report process and other relevant internal and external financial and non-financial reports;
  • Drive and coordinate Adyen’s monthly management reporting processes;
  • Monitor changes in accounting standards and regulations applicable to Adyen, and coordinate with other functions the implementation of such changes.
  • Strengthen connections between the business and reporting team, understanding the impact of new products or areas of expansion, supporting business growth through regulatory strategy;

Who you are

  • You have a solid experience in accounting/audit/financial reporting functions with either ACA, ACCA,CIMA, CA(SA), qualification or equivalent.
  • Your knowledge of the financial industry and/or payment industry is well established;
  • You’re comfortable working in unstructured environments and take initiative in managing tasks. Navigating ambiguity comes naturally, and you bring a thoughtful approach to shaping processes where clarity is needed. You have a strong sense of responsibility, helping you move projects forward independently and make a meaningful impact.
  • Comfortable talking straight and challenge the status quo, specifically with the ability to interact with a variety of internal and external stakeholders from varying disciplines and cultures;
  • Self-driven and proactive, always searching for ways to translate the reporting requirements to Adyen’s perspective.
  • Excellent project management skills and stakeholder engagement.
