What is the job?
We are seeking a Research Assistant to support the development of clinical and real-world evidence for medical cannabis use in the UK. This role will focus on analysing outcomes, supporting research projects, and contributing to evidence generation that informs clinical practice, policy, and customer experience and engagement.
The aim is to get the best quality, most reliable data possible so that we can use it to ensure our patients receive the best care possible. It requires motivation, passion and a willingness to get involved to support our teams in understanding what is required to achieve our goals.
We are seeking a detail-oriented individual with strong organisational skills who can manage multiple priorities effectively. The ideal candidate will be able to work both independently and collaboratively, contributing positively within a team environment. You should be comfortable working in a fast-evolving and innovative clinical area, with a proactive and adaptable approach. A strong interest in improving patient access and outcomes is essential.
What will you be doing?
Support the design, delivery, and reporting of research studies related to off-license medical cannabis use
Analyse clinical and patient-reported outcome data to assess safety, efficacy, and quality of life
Conduct literature reviews and evidence synthesis to support clinical and commercial initiatives
Assist in the development of research protocols, ethics submissions, and study documentation
Contribute to publications, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
Collaborate with clinicians, data teams, and external partners to ensure high-quality data collection and analysis
Support the development of evidence for regulatory, reimbursement, and policy discussions
Work collaboratively with internal and external departments to ensure the success of projects
What do you need?
Must have:
Degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field (e.g. life sciences, public health, epidemiology, pharmacology)
Experience in clinical research, real-world evidence, or health data analysis
Strong analytical skills, including experience working with healthcare datasets
Understanding of UK healthcare frameworks (e.g. NICE, UK GDPR, NHS structures)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent computer literacy with good working knowledge of office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Desirable:
Experience in medical cannabis, pain management, or chronic conditions
Familiarity with health economics or outcomes research (HEOR)
Experience with statistical software
Knowledge of regulatory and ethical requirements in clinical research
