The Investment Services Business Risk Management (IS BRM) team is seeking a Risk Advisor, Assistant Vice President to support client‑facing risk across Europe .
This role is a first‑line advisory position that partners with business and risk management teams to support effective risk identification, assessment, and governance, while developing strong risk advisory capabilities under the guidance of senior Risk Advisors.
This role requires strong knowledge of regulatory requirements for financial services firms across EMEA jurisdictions, including risk management experience for Depositary obligations.

The Assistant Vice President Risk Advisor supports the business by helping ensure that risks inherent in IS are assessed and managed appropriately across the EMEA activities.
The role contributes to strong risk culture by enabling consistent risk practices, supporting governance processes, and helping translate risk and regulatory expectations into day‑to‑day business activity.
What you will be responsible for
- Participate in risk governance forums, including meeting preparation, materials, and consistent risk communication
- Monitor risk metrics/KRIs and risk profiles to identify trends, issues, and emerging risks
- Coordinate and support RCSA activities, including consolidation of inputs, review of assessments, and escalation of concerns
- Support control design/effectiveness reviews; identify gaps and contribute to root-cause and lessons-learned activities
- Track remediation actions (incidents, control issues, audit items) and follow through to closure
- Provide day-to-day first-line risk advisory support to business, product, technology, and client teams under senior guidance
- Translate policy, regulatory expectations, and risk frameworks into practical guidance and first-line deliverables
- Participate in change and initiative forums; support risk reviews and post-implementation follow-ups
- Support incident response activities and assist the business during audits, regulatory interactions, and client due diligence
- Partner with business risk management globally and second/ third line teams to support alignment, training, and ongoing risk communications; escalate material matters as needed
- Partner with lines of defense and enterprise-wide business risk teams to execute thematic control assessments using business knowledge to make sure that IS control environment is commensurate with the risk being mitigated
- Maintain SME expertise in Depositary regulations and sound risk management practices
- Drive innovation in the Business Risk function, including adoption of AI and novel technologies
What we value
- Experience in risk management, compliance or audit within financial services, ideally supporting client services and/ or investment servicing operations teams
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

- Hands on risk management experience in a highly regulated environment
Education & preferred qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related discipline
- 7+ years of experience in financial services risk, operations, client facing roles or control functions preferred
- Hands on Depositary operational and/ or risk management experience
- Deep understanding of client facing operational risk and EMEA regulatory frameworks
