We’re looking for a Risk Automation & Data Solutions Specialist to join us in Edinburgh. You will play a key part in modernising and streamlining risk processes by designing and delivering robust data solutions across the risk function. In this role, you will gather and translate business requirements into clear data specifications, build and maintain data models and tables that integrate information from multiple sources such as Snowflake and Excel and develop dynamic Power BI dashboards that enhance insight and support decision‑making.

You will ensure high standards of data quality and governance while collaborating closely with stakeholders to create effective, scalable, and user‑focused technical solutions that reduce manual effort and strengthen analytical capabilities across the team.

Key Responsibilities for the role include:

  • Gathering and documenting data requirements, producing clear and detailed data specifications.
  • Designing and building data tables and models, integrating data from multiple sources (e.g., Snowflake, Excel).
  • Developing and maintaining dynamic Power BI dashboards and reports to support business objectives.
  • Ensuring data quality, consistency and compliance with data governance standards.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into effective technical solutions.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including data modelling, DAX and visualisation best practices.
  • Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms.
  • The ability to integrate and manipulate data from diverse sources, including Excel.
  • Solid understanding of data architecture and ETL concepts.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders effectively.
  • Experience in financial services or risk management (preferred).
  • Familiarity with project delivery frameworks and agile methodologies is a plus.

What’s in it for you?

  • A competitive salary, depending on the experience you can bring
  • A non-contributory pension between 9%-13%
  • A discretionary bonus, depending on personal and company performance
  • 27 days leave per year (plus bank holidays, pro-rated for part-time)

We also offer private medical cover, life assurance, critical illness cover, enhanced parental leave and a variety of lifestyle benefits to help our staff live their best lives, including retail discount vouchers, cycle2work scheme, subsidised restaurant and online GP appointments.

At Aegon Asset Management, we are committed to fostering a diverse workforce and an inclusive culture. We value diversity in the full range of human uniqueness without limitation including race, gender, ability, language, culture, beliefs, age, origin, background, perspectives and experiences.

We are open to considering flexible working practices. Please talk to us about what this means for you.
